Ok one thing came up in last weeks session. The question that came up is since everything in splicers is based on bio-tech...An sorry if this has been asked before.. But does that mean that anyone can get any of the bio-tech items...Say a dreadguard wanted to be remade like a Biotics I.E.: turned from S.D.C being into M.D.C being with the regen :super. Kinda like a blade thing..All of there powers no of the weakness..Could he do that..Also if he did do that would he have to return ever couple of days to take a quick Nuetrient bath...Yes I know this guy would be a tank but hell i'm looking at how bad it must be out in the battlefield that to make sure you come back alive after your host armor was destroyed. It would seem like the reasonable thing to do. What do you all think thanks :? :?

The grafting/growing process with biotech is limited to creatures who are completely formed of Splicer DNA which is highly alien in nature, such as the Host Armors, the Living Body Armors, Gorehounds and Biotics. The Biotic bath process takes them from human to non-human and messes with their human brain pretty badly.

Although there is NO mechanical rules reason why a Biotic could not wear a Host Armor, the reasons in the fluff are pretty clear - Biotics are nutjobs and their lack of humanity means they are not trusted with Host Armors. Also, only the most desperate people voluntarily undergo the Biotic Bath because they lose almost everything about who they once were. Not something you'd want for a Dreadguard.

Here are options for your PC.

1) Play a Dreadguard and buy Super Regen for your HA.

2) Play a Biotic who was a Dreadguard before his bath and RP what went wrong. In fact, you can say that whatever his HA did previously is what he can do now, as if both man and HA had merged.

3) Play a Biotic with Delusion as his insanity and make him Principled. He actually believes he is a Dreadguard and he believes he is really a human inside a HA that he doesn't need to take off. In fact, the Biotic could completely follow the Dreadguard code and refer to himself as such.

I'd go with Option 3 because that would probably be the most RP fun in game, but Option 2 would work nicely in a more serious, grim game where a broken Dreadguard is now just an expendable Biotic....

Sorry what I ment was can anyone get any of the bio tech add to them...I.E: My dreadguard wanting to be a M.D.C being in and out of his host armor. Cause if you were once human and you D.N.A was remade to turn you into a Biotic. Why couldn't anyone just be made into a M.D.C being with the same process..just change the D.N.A needed to make this person a M.D.C being.

It's not as simple as changing the DNA to make them MDC beings. With the exception of Scarecrows, the MDC humans are closer to full conversion borgs than humans. Their entier physiology is reworked - more bonemass, muscle, etc etc etc in order to make them MDC. Dreadguard would cease to be Dreadguard and their HA wouldn't fit anything like properly if they were to start undergoing Biotic or Skinjob conversions. Scarecrows are a special case of sorts since they're downright supernatural in their abilities and strengths but even they lose access to HA and still cant undergo the Biotic 'enhancement' process.

In Splicers, you have 3 ways of becoming More Than Human - none of them are compatible with Host Armors

1) Biotic
You were human until we dunked you in a biogoo bath and remade you into a disposable death machine. Since ALL biotics are mentally unstable, do the leaders of a House really want to add the power of a Host Armor to an already damaged soldier?

2) Scarecrow
Your DNA is fully augmented by an alien concoction that destroys your humanity, but makes you stronger than a Host Armor. A Scarecrow would literally tear apart a HA from the inside. The HA body is Splicer strength and the Scarecrow is Supernatural. It would be like wrapping a bodybuilder in a bologna suit and hoping he didn't break it.

3) Skinjob
All your flesh is ripped off and replaced with an MDC alien body bag that acts as a stealth field. Host Armor has to integrate with the skin / orifices of a human to fully engage, thus a Skinjob's alien body bag would not be compatible.
