OK...
I do not like the martial arts abilities the way they are represented in Rifts China 2. It is so different from N&SS, and the way some arts are listed as arts and others are listed as powers, it borders on the retarded.
I like what Rifts japan did better, but I feel that is still sorely lacking.

When I think about martial artists in a post-apocolyptic setting, Fist of the North Star jumps immediately into mind. Yeah, that stuff is WAY too out of control, but I feel it's more true to the genre than Rifts China 2.

I have found in the past the the conversion form CB1 was way too much in Rifts. I had a player with an animus so powerful the character itself never went out on missions he sent an animus. That's rediculous.

So what is the happy medium? Should I go through the N&SS books and make a word-for-word conversion to Rifts?
Have any of you guys done a re-write thats easy to follow?

Well, to be honest the only thing i did like was the simplicity of the "deos SDc to SDC and MDC to MDC". I thought that was fantastic. No dumb conversions, no dumping a ton of chi or whatever to get a measly 1d4 mdc damage. I mean really...If i spend 5 ISp i get 6d6 sdc damage, if I spend 20 isp i get 1d4 mdc? How in the hell is that even gonna phase an MDC creature or structure? 5d6 sdc to an sdc creature, he's gonna feel it.
1d4 MDc to a mdc creature? are you serious? are there rules for losing attacks in a round for laughing? is that what you're going for? They do not even compare! BUT you take your 5d6 dragon punch and hit a guy in armor and you do 5d6, that will get his attention. I think that it evens the playing field, and keeps things simple as well.

The praying mantis animus stuff? I about cried when I read that.
or as Cartman would say "f**king weak!"
This is what i felt after reading the new MA stuff: :nh:
