heres a question for you guys lets say people with super powers
existed in real life. Would super powers by themselves make them
more attractive to you? Would some ones ability to lets say fly
make you give them a second look? Would you be willing to date
and marry some one with super powers?

personally? .. not at all

while i'm one of these people that think of 'people are people first' .. i KNOW for a fact that nearly everyone and their dog would drop the 'chase for the stars' and head off in pursuit of the soup's ...

the interest for something 'new and exciting' .. and natures calling card of 'survival of hte fittest', it would basically mean that the soups would be the NEW toy to aquire for dating and/or marriage.

me? .. not interested. been there and done that. wasn't impressed with the guy. end of story. but that doesn't mean i'm soured against the fact of possibilities. real life is different from the worlds of 'what if' .. so my first reaction would be 'nope, not on your life. not interested. i'll worry about what i turned down another day.

Duh would be my first response but it has two sides
1) Yes: Simply because if it is all out there and everyone knows and everyone knows it's not a disease or funky radioactive state that can get others sick then viola instant rock star even if you are slightly good looking. Kind of like the bad boy syndrome some women seem to have

2) No. If you are slightly on the otherside of goodlooking with a low MA then you will be viewed as a freak and obviously tainted with,... SOMETHING

...If the SUperpower is Extrodanary PB or Physical Perfection...

You are definitely going to end up with groupies and such.

Depends what they can do.
I mean if someone had super sarcasm, I'm not sure if I would rush out to try and get my hands on them, but Super Endurance might make me look twice.
Then again if they had persuasion like Eden on Heroes, I'm not sure I'd have a choice, but if I did have a choice, I could see huge benefits in all of life aspects for that - I'd be foolish not to use everything in my power to get a girl like that.

Yes. It's an advantage, so I would most likely prefer them over other similar partners.

As a knee jerk responce I'd have to say "Yes, most times" but some times it'd be a bother.

Control Radiation... definate downer... stuff like that= badness.

You also have to factor in the jealousy factor.

Do I get powers too or am I just a "norm" and my girlfriend is She Hulk who can smack me with a car if she catches me looking at another green skinned girl?

It would depend on a lot of factors but I'd have to say most times, if there were two gals, excactly alike except one could fly and the other one couldn't, yeah I'd go for the flier.

As it was said it depend of how world generally view superhumans. Probably at first it would add spice, and amke a person interesting, but on long term is the person complete value that will keep a lover close.

I think it depends on the power. Some involve some pretty hideous transformations. But there are fetishes for everything, so even super freakish flatulence boy would probably have a following, albeit a very small one.

But seriously, I'm another one of those that think it depends on what the specific super abilities are. Something like Extraordinary Physical Beauty/Mental Affinity, Divine Aura or Physical Perfection would be pretty much a no-brainer "yes." On the other hand, powers such as Stench, Horror Factor and Lycanthropy would be definite turn-offs.

Even still, certain powers would only increase your attractiveness to followers of certain fetishes... such as Supervision: Advanced Sight to voyeurs/exhibitionists, Control Others to submissives, Quills to fans of piercings, and Underwater Abilities to aquafiles.

I guess when it's all said and done though, it's a cliche but a true one: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." It's all about what you like to behold.

Add in the facts of fame, infamy, exotic looks, money, power, etc, then hell ya, supes (many of them anyway) would be at an all you can eat buffet, year round. They'd just have to chose the flavor of the day, and try to avoid the STD's... Ewwww, super STD's....

I have to agree there (to a point anyway). "Novelty" can mean you have three ***** like Mary in Total Recall or it can mean you look like a walrus with indigestion. But the "right" kind of novelty look, now that's something else altogether.

Yes. Powers could mark for some flavor, but in the ne dis your "persona" appearence, personalilty and all, that make your love life happy. BUT. Is also true that as someone already pointed "beauty is int he eyes of beholder". People find attractuive very different things. And everyone had its little freakish fetish. So, I think tha tonly power that truly help all the time, is EX MA, Divine Aura and Control Others(but in this case we are on the edge of abuse).

But there are those who would look upon a mutant as having damaged genes. Some are not even capable of breeding with normal humans anymore, and some godlings never were able to breed with humans.
There is definitely the added issue of whether a person would breed with someone with distinctly non-human or animallike traits.

IIRC, the Rifts Pantheons book says that it was a wonder Zeus wasn't named the god of lust.
