I would like to see Splicers get a full line treatment. I don't think it needs 20 books, but one per year for the next five years would be good. Much like Chaos Earth.
Maybe the best thing would be to retool Splicers as a Rifts Dimension Book and relaunch it inside the Rifts line where people would feel more open to using the book in their other games. Personally, I don't need anyone's permission to alter canon to use anything I want in any game I run, but it seems that many people need that canon granted permission.
It's tough though. It is hard to justify publishing books for a core book that did not sell well. I wonder how far the book is through its first printing. Shame. It's a great game.

A Few sourcebooks is fine, but no more than 5 or 6. More Rifter Coverage in addition to as many sourcebooks as Palladium puts out for Splicers.

I hate it when my mind wonders,
Because I have no idea what it will bring back with it.

I wore out two copies of Splicers. I love this book so much. Wish it had more source books. some magic & supernatural elements. My main Rifts team has a Outrider with a Dracos. Hes only sixth level while the rest of the team are 8 to 10 th level, but he's is the most powerful member and has many cool abilities.

An outrider with a dracos modification. Sounds very cool! What are the others playing?

Well , the fact that texist only one book, is actually limiting the game. Perhaps too many sourcebook could be negative, but no sourcebook is worst of the worst. Means that at some point the game will run out of "pushing" force, stopping by inertia. Splice ris alreayd limited in that is a PURE survival game, with little explorative section. Admit it in SPLcier , the least thing you want ot hang aroudn to see new race, people, societies and so on, you just accomplish your mission in military ways and try to survive. Sort of an endless "screamers " movies. Also ironically the good setting is backfiring, because people like it so much that risk to become crystalyzed.
At some point PalladiumBooks will end up stopping printing Splicer books. It could happen ya know.

We have to hope that the person working on a source book will get it finished and PB will publish it. I hope we several more Rifter articles in the near future.

But you've to accept that sourcebook, even in minimal way DO ALTER the setting, no matter what. Change can be good or not. For Rifter articles is different, because they are SEMI-official so they have less authority, but a sourcebook is OFFICIAL and so. Also Palladium books do have to think not just bout their fun, but to the profitable and marketing aspect. Do a Splicer sourcebook sell as well as Rifts Sourcebooks or HU Sourcbook? They have put on hiatus(not completely negated but put on stasis) amazingly good Nightbane sourcebook and BTS sourcebooks. Splcier does not have such "contractual" power to pretend a sourcebook. Rifter articles are more likely , but of course they should be of top quality.

I'm willing to use non-canonical sources in my games. But that is me. If PB won't or can't put it out. Then we will have to keep it alive in our own way. Netbooks are perfectly fine with me. Some of the ones I've seen are great! Maybe we might want to consider it.

Aequitas wrote:I was reading a thread in "All Things Palladium Books" about Beyond the Supernatural...and this old thread came to my mind. When I was purchasing Splicers last month, I noticed a few copies of BTS at the store, but I didn't even pick them up to check out BTS because of the impassioned debate about it being so incomplete. Is it just me, or is the hardcore BTS crowd ready to start rioting outside of PB? I understand that they're upset about not having the other 2/3's of their game, but Splicers hasn't even had so much of a mention of another book. I guess I'm just a little confused, how much of BTS 2 is unplayable? Could I for instance, use the Rifts BOM, Conversion Book one and Dark Conversions to flesh out the missing areas of BTS 2?
You really can't just adapt the existing settings because of the changes that were made to psionics (and presumably magic) in BtS2. Splicers at least presents everything you NEED in the first book and goes over what conversions need to be made from other settings - BtS2 really is half a system (or less) with just the one book that's been released. No magic info, no conversion notes, minimal presentation of baddies all combine to make what could have been a stellar system practically unplayable for some people.
