Splicers and Wormwoodians

Just a few thoughts...
Wormwood residents in the Splicer setting might not be as bad off as other visitors...true, the creatures of magic would suffer badly, mages would be out of luck, and symbiotes would quickly die, but most folk from Wormwood are already megadamage beings used to working with resin and non-metallic armor and weaponry...PLue, they're already used to dealing with a particularly hellish environment, so seeing the Machine as another form of demonic invasion isn't too much of a stretch for them...
The Resistance would find even dead Wormwood beings to be a source of useful DNA...and the idea of finding a way of rendering EVERY human a megadamage being would be an inticing one....
For their part, once they got over the hideous appearances of the biotech, Wormwoodians would find weapons that heal themselves and which live not so bad a concept either....Of course, Splicer weapons as is might have problems resisting magic and psionics that specifically target living flesh and brains, so it's not a free lunch...

This is the only real kink in the idea, they're trying to win the war
and stay human. If they were willing to genetically alter themselves then the war effort would be much further along by now I think.
....then again not every House sees things the same way so theres no reason it couldn't work.

IIRC, any human born on Wormwood is a MDC being, not because of any specific DNA they may possess, but for mystic reasons related to Wormwood's mysterious nature. A pregnant woman from Rifts Earth stranded on Wormwood a week before giving birth would soon have an MDC infant.
Hmm, I wonder if that makes the kid immune to diaper rash?
However, it could easily be construed that some environmental factor native to Wormwood, perhaps a harmless micro-organism or virus only able to survive on Wormwood, is responsible for transforming unborn infants. There would surely be telltale DNA for Splicers to use in that sort of situation.
If one is going to introduce Wormwood material into Splicers, I'd be much more interested in the various symbiotes and the possibility of recreating them without a dependence on their home world or somehow gaining the ability to duplicate their effects in other Bio-Tech devices.

I don't fudge that rule anywhere else inthe megaverse, I'm not doin it for Splicers.

Demos you don't know what you're losing, fudging rules is as good as sex in some case!

Even if trying to duplicate magically-induced MDC turns out to be a bust, it could have devastating/dramatic effects....A Librarian drives his House to develop this new 'super weapon' class only to have his approach turn out to a bonndoggle...or the Machine learns of the idea of a LIVING PLANET, and assumes that the Resistance is getting assistance from aliens offworld....
PCs could be caught up in the enthusiasm of a House touting their 'new era' and their subsequent fall(?), or find the Machine engaging in unusual activities(trying to figure a way to cut off the 'aliens' assistance)...
And, of course, (what we all secretly hope for) what if a HOuse succeeds? They could have humans who are perfectly human, except for being tough as armor...without the ugly plating of a Biotic...and a whole new arsenal of weapons and bio-equipment...

Getting librarians to Wormwood would still be scary. Assuming a permanent rift back to Splicers, the librarians would eventually figure out what link symbiotes need with the planet to stay alive, and potentially be able to artifically replicate those conditions to bring that back home.
In the meantime, I imagine that they would come with some pretty nasty splicers on Wormwood making full use of the local genetic stock.

I can see it...Or maybe the whole Librarian-Engineer-Seedling thing is part of an elaborate reproduction process for living planets that humans have hacked into on Splicers' world....

That's something i always thought. The change to completely organic planet would change the nature of the world. Making it quit rich in PPE, in its own way of course. And This woudl explein the Battle Saints, who make me think an host armor at Nth power...

Hmmm...so there's a 'critical mass' for ambient PPE generation(or at least to generate the conditions for free flow of PPE into normal space)?
One of the stages of the making of a living planet maybe being a vast underground fungal net spreading under the surface, interlinking various Seedling zones and surface forests, perhaps?
