I just realized something, really.

It says that all mega heros are automatically supernatural beings.

Dosn't this mean it's possible for a Mystic Study to use Greater Familiar spell to bind a Mega Hero as their familiar?

technically, i suppose the same would work as well for anyone with supernatural strength..

Nope. Plenty of beings have SN PS without being supernatural beings.

Figure that one out :D

That's completely evil...sounds like an interesting way to turn an ally/friend/NPC against the group suddenly and without warning. Their personality doesn't suddenly change over weeks or months after the death of a spouse, instead for no reason whatsoever they disappear and the next day reappear wearing new colors and beating the tar out of their former friends.

I don't think it will work. The definition mentioned in the spell is lesser demon or supernatural being say like a magot. Mega heros are considered Demigods which is a different category.

Additionally unless the attributes are really low, a Hero will always make his save versus magic that is required to resist summoning, and will almost always win the battle of wills needed for a binding to work.

On top of this since a Mega hero is human, a circle of summoning won't stop him from punching a summoner's head clean off for trying the attempt.

Yes. (oh yes oh yes! *jumps up and down at the possibilities!*)

actually, it just says "lesser demon or supernatural being" whether that means "lesser demons" and "lesser supernatural beings" or lesser demons and any supernatural being might be up for debate, but according to the Mega-hero section, they are supernatural beings... Maybe it only works on "lesser" Mega beings (like the ones i always get: with four minor powers and impervious to disease... :nh:)
Mega heros are considered Demigods which is a different category.
Huh? Where are you getting this from?
Besides, anyone who uses the True Rules (SDC) knows that Demigod is just a descriptor, not an actual class...
Additionally unless the attributes are really low, a Hero will always make his save versus magic that is required to resist summoning, and will almost always win the battle of wills needed for a binding to work.
Uhm... no. Page 339: the spell caster rolls over 55% with ME as a bonus 3 out of 5 times the demon becomes his familiar. NO mention of a save for the demon at all.
On top of this since a Mega hero is human, a circle of summoning won't stop him from punching a summoner's head clean off for trying the attempt.
Well, that's certainly true! :D

I think this is a great idea, and not only does it sound like a comic book story, it is one. Don't you guys remember Spiderman #1-5???

Maggot is the second most powerful greater demon. Try again ;)

And no, tehy are not considered Demigods: Nowhere does it say this.

I take it back. The Immortals who are Demigods are considered demigods

Additionally unless the attributes are really low, a Hero will always make his save versus magic that is required to resist summoning, and will almost always win the battle of wills needed for a binding to work.

By "really low" you mean "Didn't take Extrodanary PE". Sinse mega heros don't get any bonuses to PE in particular they're no more likely to have a high PE than anyone else.

Also don't forget that some Mega Heros have magic as their vunerability, in which case they are at a PENATLY aginst all magic.

On top of this since a Mega hero is human, a circle of summoning won't stop him from punching a summoner's head clean off for trying the attempt.

Who said anything about summoning? Greater Familiar can be used on someone who just happens to be in range.

I would say in general, no, but there are some beings in the Imjmortal category which might be subject to that spell.

The definition for a greater familiar is a metamorphed demon that looks like an animal or an essence fragment possessing an animal. Pal Fan 151

A lesser familiar is an animal HU P152 .

All megas get a plus one versus magic + 2 vs possession unless vulnerable to magic. Some bonuses automatically apply depending on the class.

The rest depends on the powers picked since most mega heros are automatically powered.

The only nonpowered exception listed is Physical Training.

PFRPG in the High Seas book has a Witch who makes a Greater Shadow beast as her familliar.

and greater Shadow beasts are better then normal shadow beasts.

Hell - in TTGD you can make anyone your familliar as long as you pay the Greater Price for one.

In TTGD it specifically states you cant take a familiar that is smarter than an animal, and only applies itself to monsters in that setting. It even gives you a list of everything you can't take as a familiar in that setting.

It says nothing about greater familiars.

Good idea making the mega your familiar, if allowed. Better a willing mega...Why Willing you may ask?....The mage could increase or add to the mega's power---Nightbane WB3 page 45 . :D

My mage will be getting an upgrade on his familiar :D
