I've gathered far too many books on names over the years -- but Troll Lord Games Book of Names and a generic "35,000 baby names" paperback I picked up are by far the two I use the most.

I never heard of that NameMage program before, but I downloaded it now. It looks like it will help alot for minor NPC names. Whew, less work for me. Thanks.

Ya the same company makes a bunch of naming programs, Artifact Mage, Book Mage, Inn Mage (this one is especially cool). No I'm not a company shill, they just make handy tools for fleshing out settings. Enjoy :)

If you have a d20 and a d6 you can randomly make names.

roll the d20 for your consonents and your d6 for your volles (a,e,i,o,u,y)

If you roll for the letters in pairs you get a japanese sounding name.
