Justice Machine

I just received the Heroes Unlimited sourcebook, Justice Machine, in the mail today. I found it on ebay. I've just glanced at it and it looks cool. There's even a Mechanoid crossover adventure in it. Has anyone else read this book? What are your thoughts?

i liked it so much it instigated me (eventually) buying Justice Machine comics from Comico and Innovation (which is a slightly differnt take on the Justice Machine as the sourcebook was written before these.

The Comico and Innovation are later additions, although the creator of
the Justice Machine simply built upon what he already established earlier.
Instead of being called New Haven it ends up being called New Atlantis for
example. New company means changes had to be made. Now if only
the rights could be aquired so updated material could be made.

I still have mine, I traded some old AD&D books for it. Still a great read.

As for the comics themselves, good luck tracking them all down. There are some from (now-defunct) Now Comics & other printings. Do a search on some comic-titles site & make a list, then start searching Ebay.

Most of mine were sourced though ebay, as well as cheaply at a comics show. Vigilance is the key.

I have a copy of Justice Machine in pretty near mint condition, or at least one step below, whatever that is.

Do you think if I mailed it to the folks at Palladium they would sign it for me?

Has anyone ever done something like that?

It's a great book. I want to convert the characters over into the newer edition.

Depending on where you live, you might be better off waiting until they do an appearance near or on your home town.

I have a few books signed by Kev & Maryann, but that was way back when they did they're appearance at Compleat Strategist.

If you paid for shipping both ways, I dont see why not. Or if you included say like 5$ to cover the cost of shipping back to you.

Is it open season or is it blocked by copy rights?

Apparently Mark Ellis the guy who currently hold the rights to JM is releasing "his
altered rendition" of the comic as a graphic novel in 2009. His versions of the
characters were not liked by many fans. Since he bought the rights from Michael
Gustovich in 1991 and made the short series in Millennium Comics in 92, JM has been
doing nothing but sitting in a desk drawer collecting dust. I don't know how much the
rights are worth, but I'd love it if he sold them to Kevin so Justice Machine could once
more be placed back in he hands of someone who remembers the "true" characters and
the tradition of the story. Personally, I'd love to be the one to update that book. The
Elementals are another bunch of cool characters and would make a welcomed edition
to the Palladium universe. I am also very surprised on how little information there is
about Michael Gustovich. I would also love to know the reason why he sold the rights in
the first place.

It will take a little work, but the two adventures in the back are a blast to run. An army of
APS-Lava guys and the other has Mechanoids!!! You could have NPC introdued to New
Haven just as the Justice Machine where. You can have the New Guardians and any of the
villians show up as well. The books of full of ideas and NPCs. I just love that book. And it
bare repeating, I wish Kevin had the rights to it. I'd love to be the one to update that book
and put it back into the HU continuity .

I guess the ideas behind the Justice Machine concept is alot more impressive to the newer players of HU?

I'd say it was in Justice Machine HU universe because at the time, there wasn't an established
HU universe, heck there wasn't even a thought of Rifts. This book is true 1st edition days. I'm
doing something with it right now, have to do my own tweeking of the NPCs though. Wish I
could post them :( . Top on my list if I ever win lottery money, try and get the rights back for
Palladium.

I own it too. Love the premise. Wish that the license expired or had a statue of limitations so we could see a second edition in conjunction with the artist.
