Guy & 9Volt's sneak peek: House Branton

Unread post by Guy_LeDouche »

A preview of one of our two Houses, here's a brief overview of House Branton. I hope everyone will forgive us for not giving away ALL the juicy details, but we have to hold something back. :-D

Enjoy, and I hope this fires up your imagination.

“We are the true saviors of humanity; for only we have the will to do what must be done.”

An unknown House until almost five years ago, House Branton has entered the fray, intent on smashing N.E.X.U.S. and saving mankind. Though not an overt threat to humanity, Branton remains somewhat dangerous to other members of the Resistance because of their extreme views and culture. To say that Branton is committed to victory is a bit of an understatement; the entire House is completely obsessed with defeating the Machine and ensuring the survival of the human race.

Members of House Branton are true fanatics and cult-like in their thoughts and actions; everything is done for “the greater good”. Individuality is discouraged, frowned upon and even punished. Most, if not all, of their plans and actions are to ensure survival of the race as a whole. To complicate their relations with other Houses, the citizens of Branton worship the Engineers, Librarians, and even Scarecrows as living gods and the saviors of humanity.

As a minor House and somewhat limited in resources, Branton is willing to take actions other Houses would frown upon or outlaw entirely. Violating a somewhat unwritten law of the Resistance, Branton willing manipulates and, in some cases, completely rewrites the human DNA code; creating some unique and monstrous troops.

Though House Branton is willing to work with other Houses, their fanaticism and ghoulish sub-human troops makes others very wary.

Branton Unique OCCs
Profane Archer-
Mutated into a form only vaguely human, Profane Archers have an average height of 8 feet and "gangly" rail thin appendages; they cut an image like that of a monstrous stick figure. Despite their somewhat fragile appearance, Profane Archers are agile, nimble and swift. Outfitted with the unique "Bile Laser”, the Archers are capable of launching searing long range blasts at targets. The Bile Laser, combined with the Archer’s superior speed and vision, makes them excellent snipers, scouts, and fast attack units.
Filth Viper-A favored unit of the House Librarians, the Filth Vipers are experts at infiltration and sabotage. Built with the idea of making an infiltrator supreme, Vipers are capable of twisting and contorting their supple bodies into spaces just large enough for the common house cat. Filth Vipers are notorious for making use of garbage dumps and other waste disposal facilities as places to hide and strike from (hence their name.) Able to generate a chameleonic skin that can be shed at will, these characters are likely to be found hiding just about anywhere ....anytime.
Gore Monger-A living engine of destruction, Gore Mongers are immense, robot-pounding brutes designed to take massive amounts of damage and return it in kind. Standing over 13 feet tall and weighing in at several tons, the Mongers are one of the most powerful weapons in Branton’s arsenal. Unfortunately, the Gore Mongers are as unpredictable as they are powerful. A constantly mutating genetic structure gives these beasts an ever changing array of abilities and ensures no two Gore Mongers are ever truly alike. Plagued with insanities, Gore Mongers are almost as dangerous to their own House as they are to the Machine.

WOW! That is great! It is a very cool House! They sound very nasty!
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."
