New Proto-Host Armor = HUNTER

Unread post by TechnoGothic »

Ok, I'm going to work up the HUNTER Proto-Host Armor.

I'm going to based/build it after the AU Riathenor symbiotes. Minus the Magic of course and Super-Powers...

This suit will be another Stepping Stone to True Host Armor. Appear more Hard-Tech than other Armors. Which is misleading. The "Metal" is actually the bone extroskeleton.

This Armor will not have Bio-E to spend. Instead all of its features comes standard. The XP of the user will determine if he can access some features. So to the pilot, some features will seem to "new abilties" the armor just gains for some reason. No, Its just the Pilot is at last "accustomed" enough to the armor to use that feature or weapon.

The HUNTER will be Supernaturally Strong of course.

Should I make the HUNTER Proto-Armor permantly attached to the Pilot Host (homage to the riathenor) Which gives a good reason why the abandoned the HUNTER P-HA in the first place. A New Host Pilot can use an Old-Hunter P=HA, but starts at lvl 1 of the HUNTER OCC of course. He might has seen the Armor go all Stealth Field in the past, but he wont be able to until he reaches the lvl of Exp needed.

Regeneration. I'd going to use the Enhanced Regeneration. 1d6 Per Minute, but add on can regrow Limbs (as per Super Regeneration). Remember this armor was a stepping Stone armor. maybe the Super-regeneration was not around yet at that time.

Weapons.
Bio-Energy Vents for the Shoulder Weapons...most likely.
Forearm Laser are tech looking Super-Light cells.
Forearm Particle Beam...hmm maybe a Organic Rocket laucher instead (2 only) To to add variety to the armor. Armor uses them as Mini-missiles.

Ok, What do you guys think ??? So far ??

Feeding Requirements ??

I Thought about this some alot.
PPE Vampire would be a good source. Hence why the Armor, and Host may have a aggressiveness issues.

But I would say the Splicers themselves know the Hunter does not require the neutrient baths (unlike the Prot-Host Armor, Bio-armors). But they do not know what it actually feeds on. They believe it might feed on Light, or Temperature, or maybe even on the Host themselves but they are not sure. Most might believe it is a Parasitic Host Armor metabolism. While the reverse is the Truth. It feeds on the Life Force of others.

or

This aspect could be left completely UNKNOWN...to be determine by the GM.

I'd rather keep it Unknown myself. Keep people guessing.

Production Cycle : 1 Month
Reproduction Cycle : Unique among Host Armor, HUNTER P-HA can reproduce among themselves. This is an Asexual process , were just a single HUNTER is needed, and it splits off a bud around the size of a football from it’s back. This bud quickly grows within One month three times the size. Then it can select a Host itself. The buds are picky as to who they choose as Host Pilots however. The Vat grown Hunters are not picky however. The Armors are sexually mature at only 2 years old, and produce offspring at least once every 2 years. The Host Pilot can force the armor to bud once every 2 months however if he so wishes.
Operational Lifetime : Unknown. As few original Host Pilots/Armors are known to still be around. One known Hunter claimed to be well over 500 years old.
DNA Bonding Process : When grown in the Vats or birthed as a Bud, this unique Host Armor is not designed for a single Host Pilot. Instead this Host Armor seems to form a Bond on whoever wears it. Once a Host Pilot is selected, they are bonded for Life. Rumors say the armors can never be removed after bonding, but since the Hunter P-HA are so rare nowadays no one knows for sure. The current Host Pilots will not comment on the subject either. The Hunter P-HA can survive the death of their Host Pilot however, but only for 48 hours. It it finds a willing Host in that time, it will bond with them.
Bio-Regeneration : As per the Enhanced Regeneration feature. 1d6 per minute (6d6 x10 MDC per hour). The Armor can regrow severed limbs also as per the time requirements for Super-Regeneration feature.

Forearm Bone Blades (2) 1d6x10 md (retractable) (at first level)
Forearm Crescent Bone Blades (2) : 2d6 md (retractable) (At first level)

Can only fire One at a time however. No Valleys.
    One mile range.
Forearm Super-Light Cell (Avaible at 3rd level)
    1d10 md
Disposition :
It should be mentioned, No one knows how this this Proto-Host Armor feeds, even if it does at all.
All Host Pilots become increasing aggressive after the bonding process. They like to Hunt and Kill.
Host Pilots grow increasingly arrogant, cocky, cold, and cruel, and as heartless as human get. They develop a respect for only other HUNTERS and Dreadguards (which they see as “poor” relatives). They do not Bluff, will not waste time with torture or questioning and show no mercy. These traits are in full force by 5th Level, and slowly build until that time.

------------

The Hunter Proto-Host Armor is heavy front loaded, but only learns to use a few extra features it already possess as the Host Pilot advances in Exp. It is not known why the Hunter P-HA restricts useage of a few of its feature until later. It was theorized the Armor had to wait for the Host Pilot to adapt to the changes that the bonding process does to the body.

Ok, this is a Start.

The Riathenors are a creature from Aliens Unlimited and Aliens Unlimited: Galaxy Guide.

I like it. I've always liked the Raithenors and you made something truly worthy of their terrifying appearance.

If I could make a suggestion on the back story. I would have it be an experimental design by one of the Great Houses rather than a precursor to Host Armor. If it were an old design, then people throughout the Resistance would already know all of its secrets. If you want to give it some mystery, then it would be better to make it a new creation.

I thought about that.

I kinda like the idea, that it was older experiment to bridge Living Armor and Host Armor. The Splicer Houses could not figure out how or why some things about this armor design. So they abandoned it for the most part.
Why could it reproduce when they did not want it to be able to.
Why did the armors always have almost the same exact appearance...with minor differences, just enough to tell them apart.
Too many unknowns...Though the Libraians might create a few once in awhile for special cases...

Here is one thought I had as to why the Splicers could not figure some things out.
The Alien DNA they used was based on a piece of Riathenor Armor. They made changes of course. But they could not figure out a few importance issues. But what they did learn paved the way to develope the Current Proto-Host Armor, and the True Host Armors.

If as a Current Experiment. A Great House may have come across a true Riathenor that somehow ended up on the Splicer's world.
Since the House as tweaked the DNA of the Riathenor to make this version. What they do not know is, it take two Riathenors to reproduce correctly. This is a good thing, since the Splicers do not understand the mysticness of the riathenors. Their changes left the Riathenors as a true Symbiote Armor rather than a parasitic being. But the aggressiveness innate to the riathenors crosses over to the Host Pilot somewhat.

That's a very cool host armor. I hope we see more!

Let us supose that there was a rogue (minor) house that kept the DNA for that design and continues to use it in wars/battles with the other houses, would it be too much if they called themselves House Riathenor either by fluke (things tend to douplicate themselves in the Megaverse) or by design (they find a dead Riathenor and use its DNA for their own purposes (thus the agressive nature of the host and symbiote).
