Wayne Smith and I will be the guests on Gateway to the Megaverse® this coming Monday, October 1, 2007, 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
Wayne and I will talk about where we’re at with Dyval and Robotech®, but I think the focus will be on The Rifter®, the talent we’ve discovered, and the fun we’ve had over the years (including The Rifter® #9 ½, the best April Fool’s Day joke ever). Maybe Wayne will even reveal his origin story at Palladium Books. We can also talk a bit about therifter.com, and The Rifter® #0, and we are always glad to answer questions that are e-mailed or called in.

After Monday, I’m locking myself in my office to write!!!!!!!!!
That means I won't be Murmuring as much or able to answer my Private Messages or e-mails as much, and when I do, the answers will be brief. Sorry, I can chat or I can work to get new books written and into your hot little hands.
I need to finish Dyval and dive into Robotech®. I have a ton of research for Robotech already done by freelancers and pals like Doug Lamberson, I’ve got Apollo working on the cover (he’s still fooling around with concepts and layout) and interior character illustrations, and I’ll be assigning more art next week. I dug up a half dozen, unpublished, tight pencil drawings by Kevin Long that I will have other artists finish inking for publication (including 3 cyclone illustrations). Meanwhile, Jeff Hansen and Todd Yoho are already working on ideas and writing for this book and sourcebooks. Man oh man, are we excited about this project.
Palladium Collectibles Auction – September 29
Alex and I hope to put together at least six collectibles auctions between now and December.
The first starts tomorrow, September 29 and runs till October 6. It's held on Ebay and is part of my online store.
I’ve been digging up a lot of cool art, prints, posters, out of print books, and even miniatures. The hardest thing for me is deciding what I can part with, but like I’ve said before, at some point I just have to tell myself “it's all just cool stuff” going into good homes. YOUR homes! So please, bid and buy like crazy, and enjoy.
Take advantage of these auctions to snag some cool, rare collectibles for yourself or as Christmas or birthday presents for your gaming siblings and pals.
Some of the items are super-rare, like the Robotech® miniatures I uncovered. I only have 3-4 packs of each myself and I’ll be parting with two over the next couple of auctions. Then there’s the Glitter Boy mini (in the wrong package), a couple Kevin Long prints, a couple Kevin Long pencil drawings, some pencil drawings of my own from Monsters and Animals (I think I’ll put up my entire Gargoyle comic strip from Triax next auction), a few Wayne Breaux Jr. illustrations, some long sleeve T-shirts, other prints, posters, back issues of The Rifter®, Gold Editions, and more.
Cash flow is a bit rough at the moment (lack of new product and the typical slow September), plus, I want to have cash on hand to bankroll the many books and projects we have coming up. Christmas sales are usually excellent for Palladium, but I’d like to build up a reserve as we cruise into 2008. Palladium may be stronger and healthier than it was a year ago, but we’re still fragile and I want to cover all my options.

Rifts® movie update . . .
They are still looking for a writer to do the screenplay justice. Can't they find anyone to bring the vision of Rifts® to life?!? Let's hope so.
Birthday wishes
- Randy McCall (co-creator of the original BTS) had a birthday September 2.
- Wayne Breaux Jr. (Palladium artist) celebrated his birthday on September 7.
- Jeffry Scott Hansen (Warpath) had a birthday September 21, and two of his daughters, Debbie (10) and Erin (2), are celebrating their birthdays tomorrow, September 29. And I think his wife, Heather, has a birthday coming up mid-October.
- NMI (aka Jeff Ruiz) has a birthday October 2.
- Maryann Garner (yes, the “ex-wife") celebrates her birthday - whoa, I think it’s the Big Five-Oh!!!!! October 4.
- Tony Falzon’s (Palladium pal) birthday is October 12.
- Todd Yoho’s (freelance writer) is October 28.
And Irvin Jackson is the proud Daddy of a bouncing baby boyl as of a few days ago! Congratulations to the new mom and dad.
