No need to worry

No need to worry
Ever since the Crisis of Treachery, people tend to panic a bit when something seems awry at Palladium Books. They worry that Palladium is in trouble again or out of business when, say the telephone lines go dead.
Three of Palladium's telephone lines, including the “order line,” suddenly went dead yesterday around 3:30 PM EST. In fact, Alex was on the phone with one of our distributors when the line crackled and went dead.
Thanks for caring but you can rest easy, this is a temporary glitch and AT&T is supposed to look into it by 2:00 PM today. [UPDATE: Everything has been fixed.]
Yes, it is an inconvenience, especially since folk have been calling in Christmas Grab Bag orders, and it only leaves us with one active telephone line and fax line (plus cell phones), but the trouble is NOT because Palladium didn’t pay its phone bill. I’m happy to report that Palladium has been able to pay its bills on time every month since our public apeal last year without trouble. Yes, cash flow is a bit tight right now, but we’re confident sales will pick up thanks to the Palladium Collectibles Auctions and with the release of new product, Grab Bags, and the coming Christmas Season.
Speaking of which, The Rifter® #40 should ship by the end of next week, I am working away on both Dyval and Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles®, and generally feeling pretty positive. In fact, if you’ve been toying with the idea of subscribing to The Rifter®, this might be a good time, as issue #40 has an extra 32 pages of material, zombies, and the entire issue is packed with excellent source material for Rifts, BTS, Palladium Fantasy RPG®, and more (including your first look at Dead Reign, our upcoming Zombie game).
A new dynamic duo hits the airwaves
Matthew Daye, the mastermind behind Gateway to the Megaverse® reports that the Wayne Smith & Kevin Siembieda (that’s me!) podcast we did this past Monday, October 1, 2007, set a record 120 downloads in 12 hours! Woo hoo! (160 in a week or two has been the previous norm). Awesome. I’m glad everyone is enjoying that podcast so much. It was fun. Being able to play off of Wayne made for a more relaxed and playful interview I think. We talked about news, product updates, a gamer's cruise to the Carribean, alternatives to the Palladium Open House in 2008 (there will be an Open House in 2009!!!), a bit of history, information about how to submit artwork and written manuscripts to Palladium Books, The Rifter® and therifter.com, as well as some serious talk, a few jokes and a bit of silly horseplay. Check it out. http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/ta ... 867&cmd=tc (click on Episode Six)

Oct. 6, 2007, our current auction ends Saturday evening. That means there is still time for you check it out and put bids on some cool, rare and one-of-a-kind items. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that you’ll get "that item" next auction, because many items are only going to be offered ONCE. Obviously, that’s true of the original artwork (by Kevin Long, Wayne Breaux, and me), but it is also true of some out of print items in limited supply like the Glitter Boy miniature, some prints, and signed and numbered books (once that number is sold it is GONE).
The auctions (3-4 more will follow) are designed to improve Palladium’s cash reserves, create fan excitement and give you a chance to own some unique, fun, rare items. Ideal for finding Christmas gifts for that "I own everything" gamer buddy, sibling or spouse.
Gotta get back to work on Dyval. Meanwhile, keep those imaginations burning bright. And remember, it may take days or even a couple weeks for me to respond to Private Messages and e-mails as I'm in seclusion writing my little fingers off.
Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
