These were, indeed, the original rules in unrevised Ninjas and Superspies; they're still referenced in the GMs section in the back.

My change is to rename some of the forms (many of the ones currently called "Exclusive") to "Primary" forms.
As such, there are now 3 levels of forms.
Exclusive forms are things like Ninjitsu and Muay Thai.
Primary Forms are all other forms, including most of those listed as Exclusive (like Akido and Hwrang-do).
Secondary forms are all forms not currently listed as exclusive.
Dedicated Martial Artists now have the option to pick either an Exclusive form or a Primary form and a Secondary form.
World Martial Artists may pick a Primary form.
All others with a "Pick One" may pick a Secondary Form (and are charged in year-cost as such).

Only a Dedicated MA Anchent master can select three ma forms (one primary form & 2 secondary forms). However this in indispute due to the vaige, not clear, wording.
I would say if the DMAAM does not pick a Exclusive Form as their primary form then they get three. If they do take an exclusive form for their primary, thenthey can only have one secondary MA from. For the rest of the details see the back of the NSS book in the HU convertion notes.
