should certain skills be determined by attributes

There are several house rules about this.

One with the wider acceptance is to multiply the attribute by x2, x3, x4 or x5 depending on the intended action difficulty. Keep in mind that doing this you could surpass the skill base change, wich it isn't fair for those characters actually having that skill.

I also think attributes should dictate some skill choices. Oh, your intelligence is 9? Sorry, no being an electrical engineering or medical doctor for you.

Wouldn't it kinda help to have rules that make skills do stuff in the first place before we worry about tying them to certain attributes?
