Middle-East? Any info on rifts?

Nothing much anywhere in Asia except China and Japan.

Russia books has some cold weather stuff.

Palladium has specifically avoided the Middle East, and intends to continue to do so; essentially, anything they write about the Middle East would be pounced upon by SOMEBODY, as so rather than deal with that, they're just looking elsewhere.

I know several people have done things with the Middle East in their games. There was (is?) an extensive Middle East netbook on the internet. Someone mentioned that they decided they didn't like Atlantis, and so transplanted all of the Atlantis material (Splugorth and their minions) to the Middle East. Personally, I view it as a regenerated cradle of life, an area in which no modern technology will work, and no sentient can harm another... for completely unexplained reasons.

No.

Though Kevin won't say it, general consensus is that the current geopolitical situation in the Real World makes it an area that he doesn't want to touch right now, if ever.

Also, according to rumor, freelance writers to Palladium who have tried to submit material on that region have been turned down repeatedly over the years no matter what the material in queestion was (one of them by a Forum Member known here as elmagico-darklorddc).

the largest religions of the Western world all have bases in the Middle East and noone wants to offend any members of those religions...that is why...well and the fact that,that part of the world is a hot spot...once again not wanting to offend anyone

Someone sent me a copy of Rifts: Middle East years ago (probably about 7 years or so ago) that they had submitted to Palladium, but was turned down. It's a great book! If I remember right it's over 200 pages of text (no pics).

Don't think he ever posted on the board but he used to be very active on the Palladium Mailing List. I haven't seen him online in years though.

Think you could scan the pages, I know that would take a long time, but shorter then typing everything out, then post it for download or something. I'd be interested in seeing what changes were dreamed up for that area after the coming of the rifts.

For the same reason Christianity didnt survive...PB does not want to get into debates on how much MDC Allah or God would have...

Edit: If you guys really want to see the whole Religous thing played out, check out CJ's role playing game, Armeggedon. I dig it as one of the only non-Palladium RPGs I own.
