How do you go about making a custom class?

1.) Take an existing class from the game world and change a few things about it.

2.) Take the closest class from somewhere in the megaverse and possibly change one or two things and/or convert it.

3.) Have the player write up his new character anyway he wants and then start going through the what I can deal with process.

4.) Listen to what he says he wants and write it up myself. And perhaps making a new OCC in the process.

5.) Take the closest class from another system and do some creative conversions.

6.) That guy again? Didn't I ban you from ever playing with our group? Get your munchkin a$$ the hell out of here.

7.) Be free. Be whoever you are and whatever you want to be.

8.) Create a criteria. So many skills (ex 8-12), so many powers (ex 6). This martial art. Trade skills for powers or martial art and vice versa. After that he can do what he wants, unless I say no. Muhahahaha (Mine is an evil laugh)

9.) I would let him Dual Class or perhaps RCC with an OCC. I loathe to do much more. Genius is in the limits.

Custom Class.

If you were going to make your own custom class or if a player wanted to play his own class, and you were inclined to let him, how would you MOST LIKELY go about it?

Oh for clarification choice 2 refers to any of the Palladium books. Choice 5 refers to any other system such as D&D, Gurps, D20 etc.

I was in a group, comp & band geeks, that had alot of time on their hands, and came up with the average number of skills that chars have. 18 OCC & Related and 7 secondary skills. So that should be your basic starting set for number of skills for an OCC.

As for the rest. You make the thing up yourself, if you start from a known OCC and change it to fit, thst is fine. If you do the whole thing from scratch that is fine too. The important part, as the GM, is that You make it, not the player.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

I chose number ten.

Okay, it was actually eight! lol I actually enjoy the challenge of making new classes, especially to fit the wants and desires of a fellow gamer. So far they've been pretty pleased. I try to let them get away with murder, but sometimes I know I can be too generous.
This world is far too small not to want to see it all, but life is far too short to allow that to happen. - Falcon, Ranger (My primary hero in PFRPG setting)

"Unhand me you slobbering son of an Orcish whore!" - Ariana Moonstone, Palladin (Another primary character of mine.)

"Bastard!" War cry of Strut, Barbarian Mercenary. (That's for you James!)
