I Am a Vampire

Do anyone else see similitudes between the wild vampires from WB1 and the ones in I Am Legend? Do anyone know would there be any inspiration on KS behalf?

Hell no. Wild Vampires in Rifts are just the archetypal crazy mindless killing machine vampire from horror movies (just like Secondary Vampires are the standard "legions of the undead who look just like us until they flip out and kill people" minions from horror movies and Master Vampires are the goateed Dracula-esque masterminds who get killed in the big finale). If the vampires in I Am Legend are similar to the wild vampires in Rifts Vampire Kingdoms, it's purely because both of them are using a very very old Hollywood schtick.

I know, I know. But there ARE similarities. Both are "uncivilized" vampires with monster features who pack altogether. At least thats what I though when reading Vampire Kingdoms. I just wandered if could be any inspiration, that won't be so surprising, won't you think?

Possibly maybe who knows. You could say that the inspiration for that goes back to Poe or other classics from long long ago. There are certain themes that appear in all literature. Look at how many modern hollywood movies are based of Shaekspeare.

They seem a bit similar, but have enough qualities to differentiate between them. It's tough, too, because of the variety involved. In many ways they are the same, yet there are SUBTLE differences that distinguish them. Well, that's my input anyways.

The vampires from the movie I am Legend are similar to wild vampires, but as Nemo235 pointed out, the book was written in the mid 50s. However, the vampires in the book are more like secondary vampires (more intelligent and cunning, but not master vampire level smarts).

*spoiler for those that haven't read the book or seen the movie, yet*

There is a vampire in the movie that reaches near "Ben Corman" level smarts, though.
