Filly

Am I the only one with the new Rifter? Being outside of the US, I usually get my books a little later than others, and I went on the forums today expecting to see a whole load of discussions about the write up of Filly.

But nothing! Anyone else have it? What did you think? I've only had a brief look through it at the moment, but it looks pretty good to me.

Soldier of Od.

P.S. Given the amount of work a lot of you do on writing stuff up for ATB, I hope this is the start of many submissions for the Rifter. Get writing!

There aren't any gaming stores here that carry PB products, so I have to order everything online to get it. I haven't ordered Rifter #41, so no comments at this time. I'm looking forward to getting it, however... I sincerely hope that this article will inspire MORE for the ATB setting. For being one of the better settings, IMO, it doesn't get enough time devoted to it. VIVA LA ATB!!

The nearest game store is an hour away, and it's been too cold (-22 this morning).
:frazz: Brrrr....

Please someone, give us a review of the article.

I just got Rifter 41, and all that this most humble of people (don't even think it Taalismn*smirks*) can say is SWEEEEEETTTTT. Especially the Jersey Devil *grins evilly*. My brother and other poeple I know are so going to hate me for springing 1 on them.

Just picked up Rifter #41 yesterday. After a quick scan of it on the train ride home, it actually looks good. When I'm done reading through the article, I'll post my review.

Not the 1 I'm thinking of, I was going to do up a super special 1 that's more in line with the actual legend, it's more of a "super" Jersey Devil I guess you could say. It's going 2 have the wings and everything.

I got my hands on a copy of Rifter #41 this past weekend, and read through the Filly article last night. Wow, OmegaGirl, you did a great jog of creating a city setting I really want to play in. Unfortunately, I'm the GM :-(

The description of the city and how the Cartel families work together and how they clash are very interesting. You also do a good job of giving some life to the Wild Filly.

I'd like to know who did the art and city map.

And the artwork and map are mine as well, unless they added anything (I haven't actually seen it in print yet).

I really liked the map. I'm curious about the process you went through to make it. I usually start with copying a map from Google and then edit it in Corel (with mixed results).

Also, I loved the Mange. I'm certainly going to be using that in a game. It'd be a great hook for a (large scale) Cardanian or Yehcat campaign into Wild Philly to eradicate it.

I did notice a couple minor things:

1) On the map key, item 6 was labeled as Pettys Island (actually #8), instead of "the Institute".

2) There doesn't seem to be any info on Petty's Island.

The Filly article was the only reason I bought the last Rifter. Nicely done O.G. Got anything else planned?

OK, I'm following up on my review about the Filly article in Rifter #41.

I can sum it up in three words: I. Loved. It.

Yes... Yes there is. They are as follows: Rifter #29 (which has Aracnids among other mutants), and Rifters #23 & 24 (which has the redux of some dinosaurs, along with Mesozoaicland *starts scratching head and wondering if he spelled it right* which is actually a Pre-Crash theme park that generally covers an entire island). And I beleive that that's all of them (I think).

I saw this picture and the first thing that came to mind was Wicky's Garden.

I figured that I'd post this Alternate Jersy Devil as a alternate of the ones in Rifter #41. So here goes:

Jersey Devil (Chimera)
ORIGINAL ANIMAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Description: The Jersey Devil is said to be the undying, demonic offspring of a cursed woman by the name of Mrs. Leeds. Either way, sightings of the fearsome, New Jersey resident go back hundreds of years, though descriptions of the beast vary wildly from that of a dragon, to a winged stag to a Bigfoot-like creature. By some reports it is known to prey on livestock, terrorize naughty children, and pepper snowy rooftops with it's hoof-prints. In actual fact, the Jersey Devil is a mutant that Mrs. Leeds discovered & took pity upon. As the mutant grew, Mrs. Leeds found out that she was sorely mistaken in the identity of the creature. It’s true origin was that it was a Grey experiment that had escaped captivity. Once it had reached adulthood, it then killed Mrs Leeds and escaped into the Pine Barrens. As a unexpected side-effect of it’s origin, it is able to mate with humans to produce offspring that look like itself, which explains the source of the legends that it could live for so long.

Well, You have to understand that it's my 1st post of anything R.P.G. related (I.E.: Stats). So it's probably understandable that I'd make some mistakes. Thanx for the compliment by the way. I may just try to do up more stats for other mytho-based mutants. But at this time, I'll have to look up a load of stuff for them so it'll time. I'm thinking about doing something up about Mothman, but I'm not too sure how people will take to it.
Although, I do like yours, don't get me wrong. I think that yours could be something of an off-shoot, mayhaps someone found some strands of hair from the real (?) Jersy Devil and decided that it'd be interesting to see what would happen when you'd splice it in with other animals.
