Note: the below statements are opinion, but how I would do things.
1) The chameleon spell 90% not moving 70% moving 2 ft. etc... So if caster casts the chameleon spell will everyone on the field roll above 90% to just see the caster? Good question. I will go with that the Observers have to roll vs the %, or the equivalent natural perception roll (90%-> vs 18 percept; 70%--> vs 12; 20%--> vs 4)
2) If they see the caster is this done on every attack action? or Melee? or spell duration? Just some guidlines you might apply. If the caster isn't doing anything that might attract attention to themselves, ie: hiding, then once if the searchers are beyond 100', once every min while the searchers are with in 100', once every 15 sec if they are with in 50', if with in 25'/same room once every action.
3) If caster is shooting a weapon in chameleon and not moving do same rules apply? If the mage is drawing attention to himself by attacking with traceable effects, such as lighting bolt or a fireball, then the others get another roll to see if they can see him. They will know he is there, so if they don't make their 'perception roll' (ether % or d20) they would be firing wild at the mage.
Note: Call Lighting strikes the target from above., not a line from the mage.
4) If caster is in hand to hand combat close quarters moving less than 2 ft. is chameleon still active? if it is what percentage? Once the mage goes hand to hand then the chameleon effect is lost on those who are in LOS of the fist fight.
5) The forest dragon in RUE has a natural 80% chameleon ability even when running at full speed.
If the dragon is fighting hand to hand how do you GM's role for the 80%? The Blind Fighting Rules would apply if the non-dragon fails a per APM perception roll.
How do you use Cameleon
