Just went 2 see cloverfield last night, and all I can say is SWEEEET. It's kind of got an H.P. Lovecraft Version of Godzilla meets Blair Witch Project feel 2 it. Any Idea if there's any way 2 put that idea to ATB? I'd sooo love to do something that smacks of it for my game.

Any suggestions are welcome.

*chukles* thanx for the info guys. Sorry for taking so long to respond, but my work schedule is on the wonky side. Your idea's are pretty good, Macksting. All I can say is that I'd have to think about it.

SL 25 is pretty tiny, compared to your standard 12 storey tall monster.

HU2 uses the growth power, which may be useful, but I would strongly suggest just making up numbers to fit your campaign ( I made a SL 25 sentient octopus with blood drinking and body armour. the players took it down in 2 rounds)

I think it's pretty solid. I think I actually did some calculations at some point based on the rest of the chart, but don't recall how I came up with it. I wrote it up quite a while ago.

Imagine a TMNT campaign with yourself as a mutant animal trying to survive a Cloverfield-style incident...panicked, hysterical, fearful humans all over, gun-slinging authorities, your favorite hideouts being stomped or collapsed , or else getting invaded by desperate refugees,, and icky little THINGS making it all the more likely that anything that isn't identfied immediately as human is going to get shot....

Of course, if you're a GIANT mutant, you'll be contending with the authorities shooting at YOU while you try to deal with this obnoxious out-of-towner who's ruining your vacation spot or messing up YOUR hometown....
(shot of King Kong coming around a building launching a haymaker at the back of Godzilla's head)
THIS IS MANHATTEN!!!!!!

In response to your question (if you mean picture wise), I'd have to say the pic of the giant Armadillo from MotY.

Here's a website that you could MAYBE use (I guess) for Giant Monsters attackine your cities (although I don't know if you could or not): http://godzillasamurai.deviantart.com/gallery/ . I like how he redid big G and friends.

I just saw the movie a couple of days ago and it was pretty good. But I don't think it should be compared to the monster movies of Godzilla and such. This monster seemed impervious to everything that was getting thrown at it, and it's insinuated that it's just been born. It's way to powerful to be compared to the likes of Godzilla. It destroyed most of NYC in less than what, 7 hours? Once it starts maturing, if it can sustain itself; it should pretty much be a cataclysmic event. I wonder if those parasites it has breed? Or if we're left to think that they incubate in humans?

The video retrieval makes me wonder how much longer after NYC took place that the movie is taking place. I would have liked to have seen even a glimpse (kind of like in Terminator) where the world is at when the video is being viewed, not when it was made.

I now own it... and I must say, it's just as good as when I seen it in theaters.
