Free Copy of Splicers

Palladium is offering a free copy of Splicers with each subscription to the Rifter. This is awesome for two reasons.
First, the Rifter is a good gaming resource. At $9 each, you can't lose - especially if you play Rifts. Rifters are perfect bound so they are like softcover books, not like throw-away magazines. Second, this is your chance to get Splicers happening with your gaming group.
If your group is anything like mine, getting them to try new stuff depends on the GM buying a copy and teaching the game. Once they play a few sessions, then you can get a couple of them to spend some dough. Oddly, the players happily throw in $5 for pizza but look at you funny when you mention buying gaming books. No, I don't get this either.
Try this with your group. Tell them you want to GM Splicers and offer this idea. Each player tosses in $5 and you will get a "Player's Copy" for the group that the Players can pass around among themselves. Yeah, we would all rather they buy their own book to support Palladium, but let's be honest and admit that there is always those people who bum books off the GM for years upon years. We all know that guy who calls himself a "gamer" and at best, he owns some dice.
The goal here is to run Splicers with your crew. You can probably snatch $5 bucks from them and then turn around and use that money to fund your own Rifter subscription. I am a betting man and I think that once your guys enjoy Splicers, the gamers in your group who do buy books will get their own copy. End result = you get to play Splicers and PB eventually sells some more Splicers.
Now this is purely conjecture, but I bet that Palladium will be keeping count of how many Splicers go out the Rifter subscription. If the number is high enough, I think we will see even more Splicers stuff in future Rifters.
