Why does nothing come easy?

Why does nothing come easy?

Why does everything seem to takes longer than we want?

I wish I had the answers. More importantly, I wish I had the solution! The Staples “Easy Button” is a great idea, unfortunately, there is no such thing as an Easy Button. If there was, Robotech® would have gone to the printer two weeks ago and Dyval would have been on store shelves a month or two ago. All we can do is press on as best we can and try to stay positive.

I know it has been disappointing – especially for some – that Palladium hasn’t produced much in the way of RPG products these past several months. And I suspect concerns are exacerbated by the fact that many, many other RPG companies seem to be abandoning role-playing games entirely.

I assure you, that is not the case with Palladium Books. Our lack of products have been for entirely different reasons. One, is we continue to climb out of the deep hole the Crisis of Treachery dropped us into. (Yes, we continue to feel the lasting reprecussions of this devastating event.) Another has been working on prospects for the future that will make us strong. Another is just dealing with life, love, friendship, parents, and all that comes with it.

I guess misery does love company, because I sigh with relief when I hear about other companies who are late with product or struggling to hit release dates.

Please know that we are working hard at Palladium every day, writing, editing and getting projects into the pipeline. It’s long hours of work, especially when you’re tired, understaffed and juggling a dozen things at once. But we are working on getting a whole bunch of cool new role-playing games and sourcebooks published in 2008.

We think Robotech® the Shadow Chronicles® RPG is pretty flippin’ awesome. We’re doing the last bits of writing and corrections and waiting for final approvals. It should come out in March and we think you are going to be very pleased.

Dyval, Outbreak and the other Minion War books will also please. And so will Fleets of the Three Galaxies, Dead Reign, Mysteries of Magic and a lot of other books we have planned for 2008. For those freelancers waiting to hear about their submissions, hold tight, we'll get to you.

And no, Palladium is not going to leave role-playing games. They are our passion. We are story-tellers and gamers above all else. This is our chosen medium and we still have a million stories to tell and ideas to wow and woo you.

In fact, to our amazement and great pleasure, we’ve seen a large number of new players discover Palladium for the first time these past several months. We’ve also seen a number of folks who have left gaming return to playing Palladium RPGs. And we even picked up a new distributor recently! We want to keep that momentum going with new releases that excite the imagination and promote gaming. And they are coming. Starting with Robotech next month.

Keep the faith, my friends.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
