Robotech RPG goes to press next week

Horray! Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles RPG® is written, the art is done, 95% of the approvals are in, prep-work is begun (sizing of artwork, etc.) and layout starts MONDAY! The book should go to press before Friday of next week.

Man, are we excited about this book. It looks incredible, is packed with stats and info (all updated to fit with Harmony Gold’s official history and timeline), and brings Robotech® back to role-playing games for the first time in almost a decade.

It has been a lot of work, but a lot of fun too.

There are a fair amount of changes, large and small, that I think fans will enjoy. A few surprises too. I know people will love rolling up a character in about 15 minutes. They’ll like the character sheet too. And . . . well, the whole package.

We do have a dilemma on our hands

Our dilemma at the moment is do we cut stuff out, raise the price or just expand the book and let it go? What am I talking about? Well, the manga size is new to us, and as fans ourselves, we feel we need to include X, Y, and Z to make it a great product. End result is we are something like 120-160 pages OVER.

The RPG was supposed to be 192 pages and sell for a retail price of $16.95. You may have noticed a couple weeks ago we increased the page count to 224. In the latest press release we increased it to 256 pages, but it looks our little manga RPG is going to top out around 320 or 352 pages. Crazy, I know. And at that ballooned-size we still don’t have EVERYTHING we wanted to have in it. Sheesh.

We will probably go with the 300+ page size. If we raise the price it will only be a buck or two, $18.95 -- haven't decided yet.

Sincerely,
