It sounds like you've been acting as referee amongst your group. Sometimes, I agree, it's best to just take a break or step back for a while. You never know, things might just work themselves out.

Don't be too quick to quit on them. But if you've had a long time already to think this out, then maybe it is time to move on. I don't know about the whole hobby shop gaming scenario, chaos usually reigns supreme in those. But whatever floats your boat. Good luck!

Try taking a brake first.

Well, why rebuild when you can't be sure your not going to build exactly the same situation all over again.

Sometimes it's not the people, it's the structure.

I held the belief that a demon got it's wings.

Good news that things worked out. Game on. :ok:

My departure means that the tabletop playing will likely stop with the group...but I feel I made the right decision. It's sad when someone you trust disappoints you like this, but such is life. I'm going to try and part amicably, though it's likely there will be hurt feelings and flipped tables no matter what. Any advice on whether trying to rebuild is a good option? I'm thinking running games at a hobbyshop may be a good option, but I'm hesitant after hearing a few horror stories about gamers in my area.

Sounds like to me your the GM my friend an as such it is always sad to have to leave a grp of friends an fellow gamers no matter what the cause is I feel for you bro . My most humble apologies for hearing this an hope that you can do your amicable plan works .
