I have no such experience. But very broadly, to speed things up, I take things out which just slow things down. Which is fine, unless you're looking for speed.

If you are trying to be decreet about the pact.

Notes back and forth from the player and the Gm has worked for me. Other players tend to see this as scheming so be careful.
Sidebars, taking said player aside for a short while, work. I tend to use this when people need a bathroom break or a food run.

Remember, the communication is going to be mainly one way. Greater beings like to use proxies and avatars to relay what they want, unless it is of great importance. Gods have many followers and cannot keep a phoneline open to every one of them all the time.

I think the Shifter should support the military specialist and say "screw the Juicers, they were gonna die soon anyways". Also, he should give the specialist a 70% cut of his personal funds, because who else will keep the shifter's Brodkil amused and poor with his superior gambling skills?

I'm the 4th (and unmentioned :x ) character. Note-passing won't be a problem - as good a player the Shifter is, he isn't very devious. I'd actually be impressed if he did pull a fast one on us. That said, the Phaeton Juicer is brand new to the game, so he's got that "the group wouldn't screw me over" mentality still. As for myself and the Titan Juicer, we have zero (in character) knowledge on this whole "pact" thingy - it's not like we would know how it works anyways.

Also, sidebars are common for us; tend not to push for information we would have no privy to.

Also, Retired Juicer, you want me to not read these threads? Give me a call sos I know which ones to stay away from. And which ones I can read.

Rifts Wolfen I thought.

Might be way off though; hopefully someone will come by and confirm or kick me down into my place.

The only place I've ever seen Quorians is in PF. I didn't know they existed in Rifts, though it makes sense, since they're considered a race stranded in PF from another dimension. Some of the more interesting things about that race that weren't mentioned is that Quorians have a pretty kick butt healing factor. Also, they are naturally psionic and do put a lot of stock in dreams. The PF version of the race has an RCC called the Oneiromancer, which is a psychic dream reader of a sort. Also, in PF they have an ancestral enemy, the Gosai, which dates back to the Elf/Dwarf war when the two sides of the war summonded the races to PF to fight on their behalf. The Quorians of PF are constantly on the lookout for a means to get home, even though they've long since forgotten exactly where that is.

It sounds like the book that explains them the most is Baalgor Wastelands for PF. I can't remember what page it's on, but they have a long section dedicated to them in a chapter all about the races of that part of the world. There's a lot of other cool types of races in there too. (I really dig the Quillback!)

I've run for a lot of groups, and... the ones who screw eachother over don't live long.
Even the miscreant and diabolic characters know not too push that particular envelope too much...

Starting with 2 Brodkil minions seems iffy to me - that's a lot of meat shield for one character. I'd say make him summon his own minions in-game, roll the battles of will, and use the monster summoning tables from Dimension Book 7: Megaverse Builder.

Taythan wrote:The Shifter as a character is a great idea but two Brodkil as body guards? Brodkil would be as likely to stab him in the back as help him. With Juicers as pals what's he need the Brodkil for anyway They will just be picking fights with the Juicers and causing trouble. A good shortcut would be to eliminate the Brodkil bodyguards.

The Brodkil know better than to fight the Titan Juicer, as they have and she beat them nearly to death. The Phaeton dropped out, so we're reorganizing this game.

It was a joke. Besides, I'm the only one who reads the boards in my group (besides the GM), and I'm also the one in a very unique position of group leader and in charge of outfitting our group with a standard range of gear. This also means I'm incharge of a large amount of funds...

Rogue_Scientist wrote:Also, it's worth noting Brodkil cannot be bound by the oath of servitude. They are not actually supernatural beings, but MDC beings with supernatural stats ( , let's not start that again). This is why they can get bionics and such. Check RUE for confirmation. They were mentioned specifically.

That is worth noting. RJ hasn't checked the boards in months, so I will bring it up.

Burulovesyou wrote:Overall, just test what works out for your group the best. Feel out the players and have fun. Oh- look out for dog of war, I hear he has quite the bark and the bite.

I'm predictable in my ways - they know the baits I will and will not go for, just as I know what the baits look like that will work on me. It (the game) works as long as I'm placated. I sound like a difficult child, but it's not as bad as it seems
