Gun Bunnies & Zombies

Unread post by Rali »

I've been running some players through the Gun Bunnies & Zombies adventure in the main book and was wondering if any of you who have also played or run this adventure would care to share your experience.

My run through has run two sessions (6 hours each) so far with one to two more coming. The group consisted of a Kung-Fu Panda Herbalist, a Raven Doctor, and a Crazy Rabbit Salvager (new apprenticeship I created). Plus Ozzie Bleu.

The first session was the introduction and trip north. The group ran into the second and third Travel Encounters while heading along the Hudson River and ended up carting the wounded grouse to a small village (Rolling Green) a few miles away. This is where the characters first encountered the Gun Bunnies who were shaking down the local tavern (Serpent and Vine, run by Trevor, a horse). The group (aided by the fact that one character was a mutant rabbit) was able to convince the Gun Bunnies to leave the area without incident.

The second session, ran this past weekend, started with the death of the mutant grouse and the characters slowly deciding to head on to Benny (they wanted to stick around and wait for the Gun Bunnies to show up again). On the way they bumped into the fifth Travel Encounter (a group of Wolf Barbarians) before finally reaching the banks of the Hudson River. I had Ozzie head out a few hours before the players and radio them with two options for crossing the river: a boat man who would ferry the characters across or an old rusted rail tressel. The characters eventually choose to be ferried by the boat man (Apollo, a Raven) who gives them some information about the area and warns them about the psycho-zombies and the Gun Bunnies. Due to time constraints, I chose to pass on an encounter with the zombies and just get them into Benny where they were able to find an inn (Hen House, run by Maryann, a Chicken) and hear some rumors.

In the next session I'm planning on a large encounter with the psycho-zombies and maybe introduce another NPC from the area, a Pleasure Bunny named Amanda who's pretty tight with the Gun Bunnies (actually she's a male shifter mouse spy for the Rodent Cartel who has a long back story that will probably never be explored). Amanda knows where to find Brother Bill's monastery and a few other points of interest in Benny and Troy (if the characters ask).

I've been toying with the idea of connecting Brother Bill with Doctor Ferral and Bio-Spawn. My idea is that Brother Bill found an old facility that produced the implants for Ferral and has been trying, unsuccessfully, to reverse engineer and improve on them. I'm thinking that this could lead into my larger Doctor Ferral campaign idea that would include the "Mutagen Invasion" game Erick ran at the last Open House.

That's REAL LIFE. I'm talking PALLADIUM. Confuse the two at your own peril :)
