A mixed bag of work and excitement
Things remain busy, crazy and unpredictable at Palladium Books as all kinds of machinations are unfolding. We have big plans for future product. Big plans!
If you’ve seen our most recent Press Release, you know that we’re working on the 8½ x 11, Deluxe Hardcover edition of Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles RPG. It should be available in August and make its debut at Gen Con Indy. It will have more info, art, adventures and fun as well as being in the more conventional RPG size.
We’re also starting work on the Macross Saga and Robotech Masters sourcebooks (both will be manga-size).
Robotech® sales continue to be strong as word of mouth about it spreads.
We continue to unpack and put on the final touches at Palladium’s new offices and warehouse while working on books and dreaming up new projects. I spent part of the day calling various business institutions to get Palladium’s address changed to the new place, writing bills, and talking on the phone. A lot of talking today: with Kathy Simmons, Teresa Mead, Brian Manning, Mike Mumah, Peter Falkenstein, Tommy Yune, and a dozen others. It’s been a long day. Got a lot done, but there’s still more to do.
Alex and Julius did prep-work for shipping and mailing The Rifter #42 Tuesday. Julius was also busy shipping out distributor orders half the day. (Hank retired when Palladium moved, so poor Julius has been on his own these past several weeks. We hope to bring on a new staff member to help out in June.)
I’ve started work on Dyval again, will be assigning new art to Brian and Allen Manning, been talking zombies with Nick Bradshaw, and we have a number of projects in various stages of development, including the Rifts® Anthology Book (we are all very excited about this book of short stories centered around the Chi-Town ‘Burbs).
Meanwhile . . .
The Rifter #0 should be getting posted later this week (or early next week). It’s our first “downloadable” product ($3 per download). And we hope to get therifter.com up and running soon too.
I got good news today
The big news of the day, for me, personally, came during a telephone call from my beautiful daughter, Monica Donald. She has only recently returned from a two-week vacation in France and Italy. It seems that her long-time boyfriend, Steven, capitalized on the romance of Paris and the gardens of the Louvre to ask for Monica’s hand in marriage. She said yes, and the wedding is tentatively scheduled for “Spring 2009.”
I am so thrilled for Monica. She’s a great kid, smart, hardworking, and deserves to be happy. Steven is a great guy and the two of them are partners in a blooming business. I can hardly wait for next spring! I know both of them will be very happy.
Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
