The history of the orders of mathmatical
might

Diophantus of Alexandria
Little is known about the life of Diophantus. He lived in Alexandria, Egypt, probably from between 200 and 214 to 284 or 298 AD. While most scholars consider Diophantus to have been a Greek others speculate him to have been a non-Greek, possibly either a Hellenized Babylonian, an Egyptian, a Jew, or a Chaldean. Much of our knowledge the life of Diophantus is derived from a 5th century Greek texts
much of his life is a mystery to historians.
Encyclopedia britianica

Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī
was a Persian Islamic mathematician, astronomer, astrologer and geographer. He was born around 780 in Khwārizm (now Khiva, Uzbekistan) and died around 850. He worked most of his life as a scholar in the House of Wisdom in Baghdad.

His Algebra was the first book on the systematic solution of linear and quadratic equations. Consequently he is considered to be the father of algebra, a title he shares with Diophantus.

Diophantus's order is today known
as the order of the abacus. Muhammad founded the al-gabr al-muqābala, these two similar
magic organisations are today the most
bitter of enemys. How the feud started
is unknown what is known is that it
has lasted centurys with assasinations,
murders, and other attrocitys being
common between the two organisations.
Svartalf- if Cherico were a character created in a point game system, he'd have all his scores in geeky skills and his youtube and weird net stuff schticks all paid through a a Terminal Bad Luck (with more nasty GM intervention) disadvantage, and probably an Uncouth (can not have social skills) disad as well...
In an RPG with deadly situations that character would have had to be replaced a dozen times over[

The Divine Equation is a ritualistic
tatoo given to all properally initiated
members of the order of the abacus.
The tatoo functions much like a msytic
artifact toughening the participent,
giving him or her more of the all important magical energys that
will define their lives with the order
and a few extra spells and abilitys to
keep them alive.
