About Dyval . . .
Perhaps needless to say, this week is quickly going down the drain for me in regard to getting all the work I need to get done, done. Which will mean more delays. Sorry. If you’ve read my last Murmur, you'll know I’m feeling a bit emotionally drained and low ebb this week.
I know my detractors will chide me and see all this as whining, weakness and making excuses.
I’m not ashamed of my feelings, and I’m sharing them with those of you who care. The idea behind the Murmurs of the Megaverse was to share my thoughts and ideas, good and bad, exciting and, well, disappointing. It's your inside look at what's happening at Palladium Books and into my thought process. I’m happy to share and want you to feel like you're an important part of Palladium, because you are.
This next bit will undoubtedly anger or disappoint some of our fans, but I also think I’m going to have to put Dyval and Dimensional Outbreak aside for a couple weeks. Yes, that stinks. No, it’s not okay. We need the sales these two books will generate and I’m tired of disappointing our fans, especially when we have such great books in the works. Unfortunately, as brilliant and imaginative as Carl Gleba is, these two manuscripts need a great deal of time consuming work. I’d rather delay these two late books a little longer in order to get other books out on time and make these Minion War books as fantastic as they deserve.
I’ll get back to Dyval as quick as I can. I just need to get some other products into development and production, like the additions to the Robotech® hardcover and the next two Robotech® sourcebooks (i.e. assign artwork, coordinate editing, keep research, writing and editing going, etc.). I wish I didn’t have to, but I must. I met with the Palladium staff and sales people to get their opinion and they unanimously agreed.
We are truly excited about all the great new titles lined up for our 2008 release schedule, Dyval and Dimensional Outbreak among them.
Despite the stinking delays, I can tell you that Dyval is absolutely awesome. The ideas, the settings, the new Deevils, the politics, the story advancement, the subplots, the artwork . . . they are all FANTASTIC. When Dyval finally comes out, gamers are going to love it and the Minion War is really going to come to life. Btw, Dyval and Outbreak WILL get released this summer.
I hope you understand. We are all working long hours and striving to give you the BEST role-paying games and sourcebooks possible!
We do care about you, our fans, and the quality of our books. We need the sales. We’re doing the best we can. If we could get the books out sooner, we would.
Please keep the faith and stay positive. When new products start to roll out, they are going to blow you away and keep coming out on a regular basis.
