Today felt like a good day

Talked to a lot of people today about a lot of different things. We have a lot of things in the hopper and I'm feeling good about where Palladium Books is headed. If some of the things boiling behind the scenes come to fruition . . . it could be the start of a new era of greatness and endless possibilities, great games, product and fun. I hope so.

Of course, there are never enough hours in the day, so I only got half of what I wanted to get done. And no writing. Waaaah. Hot on Rifts® anthology short stories and Robotech® sourcebooks.

A place for talent to cut loose

“Palladium is a WONDERFUL company Kevin and I hope you never change it only continue to prosper it and add onto it. I would love to see what detailed models, figures, cinema, software enhancements, etc., could be released. Well, its back to the drawing board. Will be in touch with some finished work soon. Thank you again for EVERY opportunity!”

Wow. What a nice thing to say. That came from one of Palladium's freelancers and it really brightened my day. I’d like to think that Palladium is a wonderful company. Wonderful in large part because we give new talent and creative minds a place to cut loose and unleash their imaginations, to get their start and strech their abilities. In the months to come you’ll be seeing a large number of new names in our books. We have a batch of new writers, artists, and other creators lined up to contribute to a number of exciting products. Likewise, we have some old regulars like Chuck Walton, Mark Dudley, Nick Bradshaw, the Manning Boys, Mark Oberle, Jason Marker, Josh Hilden, Braden Campbell, Josh Sinsapaugh, John Philpott, Carmen Bellaire, Jeff Hansen and many others who will be making new and bigger contributions to the Palladium Megaverse.

There are a total of 20 lots in this auction.

Our next auction will have even more cool stuff. It will be June 7, 2008. We may do one more or this might be our last till fall. Haven’t decided. Alex has also been busy putting many new toys and items up in our online store.

The Rifter Zero is now available online

Thom Bartold has made The Rifter Zero available on our website and in the Palladium online store. It is available ONLY AS A DOWNLOAD and only from Palladium Books. It costs a whopping $3 and offers a bunch of fun source material and info for the Palladium Megaverse. You have to order it like any product, and when your order has been processed (within 48 hours or sooner), you'll be notified that you can download it.

I hope you like it. Matthew Daye was the mastermind behind it, and if it does well, it will be followed by other downloadable product. Enjoy.

Holiday Weekend and Doing Artwork

I hope all of you get to have fun and relax with friends and loved ones this weekend. Me? I plan on working a little, relaxing a little (already saw the new Indiana Jones movie and I liked it a lot!), and trick myself into relaxing by staying home and drawing my pinup page for The Rifter #43. I say “trick” myself into relaxing because I find doing art relaxing and a fun change of pace (I don’t do it much these days so it’s special to me). And because it doesn’t feel like work. So I’ll be “working” doing art, but it feels like fun.

Btw, the Swimsuit artwork coming in looks fantastic. It’s going to be a great issue. And for those of you artists behind deadline, please get us your art by May 28!

Take care. Keep those imaginations burning bright and game on!

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
