And the beat goes on

And the beat goes on.

These past few weeks have been a mixed package of tears, excitement and accomplishment despite our sorrow.

The tears are, of course, because of Erick Wujcik’s untimely demise. I’m glad to report there have been many more smiles and laughter remembering Erick and his many exploits than there have been tears. Still, I must admit, I can’t quiet shake my sadness, (sorry, Erick, I know you wouldn’t want that), and all of us have had off days as a result.

The excitement and accomplishments come from the fact that, though we have slid further off deadline – arrrgh – we have all been busy working toward getting books finished and to the printer. The Deluxe, 8½ x 11 inch, hardcover edition of Robotech® is done and at the printers. We’re also releasing a very limited (500 copies) Robotech® Gold Edition with signatures from Tommy Yune, Jason Marker, me and others. As I write this, we are in full swing of finishing up The Rifter® #43, our swimsuit issue and special tribute to Erick Wujcik (and it’s looking great). Meanwhile, Jason Marker is working away on Robotech® Sourcebooks and I’m working on The Rifter® #43 (art and text) as well as the Rifts® Anthology book of short stories centered around the Chi-Town ‘Burbs.

I have not had the heart or the energy to answer the 40+ Private Messages in my mail box, most of which are kind comments and words of support regarding Erick’s passing. I still find the loss hard to deal with (good days and not so good, this being a fairly good one). I hope you understand.

But I did want you to know, all of your kind words and warm regards are very appreciated and welcomed. Thank you.

I also wanted to thank so many of you who have shown such great interest in the Erick Wujcik possessions being offered in our current auction on ebay (ends Saturday, June 21). It makes me smile and feel happy that so many people are interested in owning a signed RPG book or item that once belonged to Erick Wujcik (and in many cases, it’s a product he wrote/created or contributed to). Awesome. I hope it brings you joy and inspiration.

PLEASE NOTE: There are easily another 70-90 books, plus a dozen or two dozen pieces of artwork and other items belonging to Erick Wujcik which he signed and gave to me to sell in auction so other people may enjoy them. Unfortunately, it is too difficult for us to offer them in more auctions at this current time. Look for 2-4 Erick Wujcik Auctions this Fall, probably starting at the beginning of October, 2008. I don’t want people to miss out on these unique opportunities.

Thanks again. Keep those imaginations burning bright.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
