From Kevin’s sick bed . . .

Unread post by Kevin »

A few words about Gen Con from the sick bed of Kevin Siembieda . . . er . . . “sick desk?”

Hey everyone. I had started writing a full blown Gen Con 2008 report, Monday, but as the day wore on, I began to feel feverish and under the weather, and went home early. Been stuck in bed with the flu ever since. That has prevented me from writing and posting my Gen Con report.

I hope to be feeling much better tomorrow and hope to write and post an official report sometime Friday. Thought I’d do it today, but I’ve been in the office since 3:00 P.M. and just writing some bills, answering some e-mails, meeting with Mark Dudley, fielding a few telephone calls and writing this Murmur has tuckered me out, so I’ll be heading home to take some aspirin and sleep some more.

Here are a few highlights before I go . . .

Tales of the Chi-Town ‘Burbs beat the Robotech® Hardcover as our best selling convention item by ONE copy. Cool. We were tickled pink that the anthology book was flying off the shelves. We’re proud of this book and if word of mouth buzz keeps on, online sales high and distributors reordering for stores, we’ll be doing more books like it in the future.

Jason Marker was thrilled to learn his story, Be Careful What You Wish For has reportedly given at least three people (Kathy Simmons was one of them) nightmares. Jason Richards added that while it didn't give him nightmares, just thinking about the story makes his eyes itch.

We had a great time visiting with friends, chatting with fans, running games, signing autographs, and having fun.

More on Gen Con Indy 2008 tomorrow (Friday) in a full report as well as more personal moments (the Ennies presentation, etc.) in other Murmurs throughout the weekend.

Buy Tales of the Chi-Town ‘Burbs (and Robotech®)! You won’t regret it! Well, unless it gives you nightmares, then you might regret it, but only one story is nightmarish, okay, two, but . . . um . . . sorry, fever talking. Game on. :)

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
