Questions about summoning Creatures

Unread post by dungeon666master »

Hi,

Is there a existing forum compiled list of all the monsters in rifts (+conversion books ect), with what circles are required to summon them and MOST importantly if the creature is considered a lesser or greater being and whether it is considered a supernatural creature, a creature of magic or a sentient pawn (that requires the true name of the creature to summon it as per the circle components).

Because at present it seems it takes a lot of reading to analyse ever creature in every book to come up with the truely awesome list of summonable creatures. And when you do find one it only sometimes lists its category (greater or lesser and what type (supernatural, magic, pawn)) and some greater creatures cannot be controlled at all... is there a definitive list of these... as a Greater Elemental with access to earthquale doing hundreds of MD over a V large area at massive range could be considered more powerful than a weak godling.

This table could be made even more helpful along with listings of the creatures MD and a brief account of any good abilities such as spell casting or innate abilites. Then as the last coloum may a 5 star rating on which choices are the most useful (and therefore generally the most powerful and easy to control).

So what Im really asking is has anyone already compiled a list of the most powerful and useful creatures in existance (in Rifts) for the Summoner or a list of GREAT creatures to summon via the spell control lesser supernatural being (plus the spell has a v good duration 24hrs a lvl)?

I have found one good example so far (use summon and control lesser supernatural creature spell, always summon on a nexus point for x3 duration):
Faeries, they are invisible, can fly around with you but most importantly they come with an average of 400PPE which you can demand from them (70% max as they obay your commands to give PPE) giving you 280 PPE to help summon the next Faerie. When you have a small army of them at your beck and call go adventuring and for each lvl you have two of them can donate 280PPE, making those spells of legend a breeze to cast!.

Rifts Dimension Book Seven: Megaverse Builder has a listing of many supernatural creatures, monsters, angels, Entities, and archaic sub demons that can be summoned up for shifters.

While it doesnt list circle magic for them it could give you a good idea of where certain creatures fall into different catagories. Some are surprising to find there others you would expect to see.

Give the book a look it should help you out.

Mere combat ability does not separate greater and lesser creatures. After all, a gargoyle of any kind is a lesser demon, and a gargoyle lord could easily put the beat-down on a Baal-rog(a greater demon).

i've gotta contradict ya there. a bal rog would easially crush the gargoyle lord.

In all honesty, I would let the players come up with whatever they wanted to summon, and let them do the conversion work, checking it on a case by case basis, as there does not seem to be such a list, and it sounds like a lot of work to try and fabricate one, though I did consider doing a version for you, heh
