I haven't done anything like karma; just experience points.
Throwing karma into the mix isn't a bad idea but I know some players that wouldn't go for it.

Possibly. Evil characters might suspect something when all the bad karma flattens them faster than anybody else.

I agree with Sasha; it depends upon your group and the playstyle for the particular campaign.

Don't the dice have their own Karma as it is?
I've thought about trying something like that out, but I've never actually implamented it. How do your players like the whole karma modifiers, and what alignment to they usually go with?

Toward the PCs. Always. Stories about drama and conflict. Swerving away = no conflict and no drama and thus boring. The players WANT the car to swerve toward their PCs because that's fun and exciting.
I vote Thumbs Up on the Shenanigans Tables and I hope you build some great ones and submit them to the Rifter (...or Rifter Zero). However, the Karma Modifier is just a cheap shot to punish players who play Non-Principled characters. Again, not fun. If you don't want evil or selfish characters in your games, be upfront with the players at chargen.

I have seen this called action points and drama points as well as karma from the old Marvel game from TSR and force points. You collect dark force points for the jedi choke.
You can ask your players how they feel about an additional modifier to the roll before they play and go by what they think, or keep it to yourself and never tell them.
Personally, it's a waste of time since circumstances will put their own modifiers on any situation. Most players won't like it if they find out the GM imposed even more penalities because of a judgment call.
