Anyone have a link or program to look up what celestial events happened in the past? Trying to come up with some things for a HU2 world, but can't find anything. Thanks.

well, it helps if you get your terms right.

your looking for Astronomical programs (Astronomy), not Astrological ones. (Astrology)

astronomy is the study of the night sky and the things in it. Astrology is the mystical idea that the positions of things in the sky govern your life.

one is science. the other is wishful thinking.


this site might have some freeware programs of use. the planetarium programs are probably what your looking for. they display the objects in the night sky as they were on specific dates and from specific locations.

however, your best bet for finding events will be to do a google search or hit wikipedia for the types of events you want.

a few terms that might be useful: Conjunction, alignment, nova, supernova, collision, comet, occultation

Thanks. Tried Wikipedia and google, will try again with the correct terms. Was trying to find a timeline of major celestial events (specifically for 1938), but turned up nothing as of the time of my original post.

Writing a timeline for a HU2 game, with some various magical events, and the occasional touch of time/dimensional travel.
