A few of us did a TMNT a LONG time ago back in the 80s. We had 3 porcupines with the group name 'The Untouchables' :P We were doing it modern day. We basically had a forest base in the side of a hill where we kept everything. It was more small town-suburb crime-fighting and trips to the nearby city (about an hour away).

We went to the city at night and in the rural areas people tended to switch the story to us being bears and such.

We would always stick to alleys, steal cars (we tried to be good, but ended up turning to a life of crime) move at night, etc...but generally we attracted a lot of attention and had to escape alot. There was a brief time where my brother and I had zippers taped to our chests so it looked like a costume we were wearing, but that was only a brief time.

It also helped that there were other mutant animals around that attracted attention and caused commotion we could use to get around some places.
