Make it worthless unless they sell it up (role play it). Each card, if I remember right, is single use, so the more they try to show it off the less valuable it becomes. Also, how do they know what it is and how it works? It's effectively alien magic.

I'd use the deck
The Rifter #13
...snip...
Palladium Fantasy: In the hands of Fate - - 38
...snip
( I think that is the deck...*mustters something about digging r13 out to check*)

Or possibley what would be equivalent in trade items for one. Thoughts and reasons would be appreaceated.
This is a unique artifact that bares no duplications, except for the god who created it. It is priceless to some, and worthless to others. The deck, if used can bring amazing luck or inescapeable death.
This item is worth more than any rune blade, any scroll, or any kingdom. It is worth this much because of the shear fate it can bestow on an individual.
And it is really, really cool
If I were to price it, I would put it in the millions of gold pieces (say 1 million for a PF game, or 10 million in a Rifts setting - at least), but I would also have such an item draw fate to the characters - Witch Hunters or cultists or something locate them and attempt to either steal it or kill them for it - making it an item best offloaded quickly, or used
