The boom gun inflicts deafness penalties.

Bio-Manip: Deafness also does, although these are different.

I'd assume the boom gun is also the pain thrown in, while Bio-manip: deafness is the penalties for simply being deaf.

Sonic boom in and of itself just isn't scary, though it may be worthy of deafness effects if you're close enough to the source.

I know what Rifts horror/awe factor is, and what it's supposed to be from and sonic boom just doesn't fit the bill. EBA armor or just about any closed vehicle would make it a nonissue anyway.
