Do Wampyr require human blood, or can they be the ones patronizing butcher shops?

Assume only sentient creature's blood will feed them long term. Lacking it would have a similar effect to a vitamin deficiency. It can feed them for a time, but long term it will weaken them.

Come on, no one else? Not even gonna inflate your post count by saying "Yeah, what Alan said"?
Where is your post-fu?

I'll throw in an "Opposite of what Alan said." Wampyrs can feed off of animal blood. And no, I'm ripping it off of V:tM, not Twilight.

While it would be human/sentient blood that they crave, they can subsist off of any blood.
Sort of like a PSI-Stalker feeding off a Ley Line's PPE rather than a mage's. It's not what they crave, but they can subsist on it.

They prefer sentients the way we prefer food made for humans. Animal blood to them is like some of the stuff they make contestants eat on Fear Factor.
So somewhere an undead Joe Rogan may be making vamps drink pig blood for cash and prizes?

The way I have done it is that Wampyrs prefer Human blood but They can drink Animal blood to survive when needed.

In my game, it not only has to be a sentiant creatures blood, for full nourishment (animals count as half and taste terrible) but must still have living essence (trace amounts of PPE) in it. That rules out things like blood banks, where the plasma and the hemoglobin have been seperated.

Question:
Can a Wampyr survive off of Banked human blood or animal blood?
Answere:
They get the thirst for blood from nearly becoming a Vampires, so it stands to reason that it would also be the Same type of thirst as well, than in that case! Play it how you will but, the answere is No to both!

Animals aren't food, Animals are what food eats.
anyways I say that the dependency on blood is identical in nature to that of the vampire meaning it needs to be humanoid (preferable human). [per vampire kingdoms] which does fit with them being able to drink from bane and doppelgangers (nightlords/princes)

Reminds me of why me and this guy work so well together... we tend to think alike.

As a gm I'd stress the desire for human blood and would not penalize the player for drinking other kinds of blood. Just stress that human blood is what they want.

Look at it like the difference between wanting a fliet mignon steak and eating a hamburger.
Technically speaking, Wampyrs can survive on blood from cows, horses, multiple smaller animals, ect., but it's the blood of a human that provides that 'kick' that they crave.

The best option I've seen is partnering with a NB who can regenerate the lost blood super fast.

I see nothing wrong with such an individual making an arrangement with a blood bank to acquire older blood stock for food that is no longer safely useable for medical purposes. I would also not DIS-allow this type of arangement. It allows the individual to keep a semi-low profile and also shows creative thinking. Wampyr's also had little choice in becoming what they are. Another thing is that while they may be related, the wampyr is not a full vampire.

In my game I have a wampyr who lives off the contents on public toilet sanitary bins (vampires teabags). He claims he's a vegeterian.
