What is status of the Splicers fan projects?

Anything near completion?

Anything definitely vaporware?

What needs to happen to make the project happen in 2009?

My hope is to have a completed manuscript submitted for review by March. Probably 150 pages of material so far and I'm guessing 100 pages to go. It's a combination adventure book/sourcebook.

Perosnally i think a lot about splicer. but i actually write very little, due to lack of time, or because when written they do not look as cool ideas as i thought them :(

I would love to post more, but I have to stop if I want it to get published. Kind of why I've been so absent from the boards (that and damn jobs and family getting in the way). I've been churning out a pretty steady string of stuff. All of which is awesome I might add. :D Actually, it's mainly the artwork that's so awesome. Chuck Walton has also been churning out a steady supply of mind blowing illustrations. He has about 30 or 40 so far and he is still going strong.

Another forum member, 9Voltkilowatt, and I were working on a ton of stuff for a while. Unfortunately for both of us, the adult life beginning really problematic and work on our material came to a grinding halt. Sadly, its been about a year or so since I last spoke to him and the material has languished in limbo since then.

“With all the focus on Robotech, Dead Reign, Minion War, and Rifts. A Splicer sourcebook would never see the light of day.”

“Sir, you've just read my mind, I too thought about this for long time. Yes the technojackers is one of the things in Splicer that seem to suffer from a rushed job, or somethingt hat was expected to expand in future sourcebook..that will never come(let's face it there is more chance to see another sourcebook for nightbane or ATB than Splicer)”

I must say oh yee of little faith… :(

Slappy & I have been working diligently on cranking out a GOOD & plentiful sourcebook and we have mentioned this and yet the doubts continue to pour forth, sigh... Hmmm… What does it take besides the book itself? How about words from THE horse’s mouth?

Inside the Rifter#45, pg 9, 2nd paragraph from the last, Kevin states for the expected itinerary of 2009 sourcebook releases: “quite even a Splicers.”

I simply ask everyone to Please have a little more patience with everything as we are working hard to put everything together to forge a good product and rushing things doesn’t make anyone happy in the end. What we can do is bug Kevin about the product and be ready to purchase it when it is posted for orders, before it is even fresh off the press so that everyone sees just how awesome & in demand Splicers really is. We will up hold up our end of the deal, please be sure to do the same.

Thank you for the kind words. Means a lot coming from someone who I consider to have some wonderful talent.

I do hope it encourages people to give Splicers a try. We hope to impress.

Slappy (and friends), is there anything we can do from the community side to help you, out? I am admittedly not much of a writer, but I have been using stuff off the Splicers board for years. It is really what has given me the drive to run Splicers as a normal game, but also sprinkled it into all my other settings. Without the hard work here Splicers would have dried up, at least in my corner of the Megaverse.

Though I can do little, Splicers will always have my support

Just wanted to check in with you guys/gals and to say Thanx again for all of your support & faith! We are still in full crank mode on the material and there is just so much to touch on and yet we want everything to coincide well with what is being requested as well as with what the setting specifies.

In review of everything I can easily see now that one book is not going to encompass everything needed, though we will try our best to get is needed and has been demanded as well as some nice new touches. I am sure in review of the Palladium world books, it is clear to us all that 1-2 books wont cover every apsect of that world. I think Carmen did a fantastic job in introducing to us all such a wonderful RPG premise and touched on a ton of ideas, concepts and established a setting for us to all build on. Now the next step is to continue this sculpting process one step at a time.

Well, its back to the drawing board for me as the illustrations are calling me.

Will someone include stats for engineers, librarians, and gene-pools, or point out where i can find them. I have looked all through the main book and I think they were left out.

Librarians, Engineers and Gene-pools are purely NPC beings with no hope of ever being PCs so stats are whatever you need them to be on the mental side with as much MDC as necessary to handle casual damage but not be unkillable (rogue librarians get smoked afterall). Psionics aren't a possibility and what "healing" they do offer is already detailed iirc.
