I suppose you could use Blunt.

Either blunt or staves would be appropriate.

I'd say staff would be more appropriate.

Staff would be most appropriate WP to use.
Other WP's that would be useable would be WP Blunt, or WP spear. However, they might incur penalties for tricky maneuvers.
[opinion]
But if the bow had pointy things on the ends, then WP Spear would be an appropriate WP to use.
[off the deep end]
If the bow got broken half, if the string was still attached to both halves, then WP Chain -1.(h2h MA or any tool using MA form then ignore the penalty)
if broken in half and only one side still attached, then WP whip/combat ribbon. More as a pain/keep back weapon then one that damages. (combat ribbon, okay I'll admit it, I got the idea from Ranma 1/2
)
Would give the save vs pain equal to the strike roll, or the standard save vs pain, which ever is higher.

WP Blunt includes training with all blunt weapons, including clubs and staves.
So the longbow would be covered.
WP Staff only covers training with staves.
Since a longbow is not an actual staff, although the style of melee use might be similar, and since WP Staff is the more narrow of two skills compared to WP Blunt, I'd say that WP Blunt would be more appropriate.
I might allow WP Staff, but I'd be more likely to include a penalty because the weapon doesn't quite fit the Weapon Proficiency.

A bow isn't a blunt weapon, it's a weapon that merely happens to be blunt. It's not designed for striking people with, which means that no W.P. bonuses would apply, except possibly for those from Weapon Improvisation.

Hey, I can go with that too.
Really, the only WP melee bonuses that would apply if you get down to it would be the +1 to parry from WP Longbow.
BUT if it's something the character does regularly, I'd probably let him go with WP Blunt as well, after practice, because it covers pretty much any blunt object and the same basic principles apply.
