GUNStrike Question 2

Unread post by Mouser13 »

Just checking, but seems noone answer my question on do you add hand-to-hand bonus to strike to gun strike. Like +2 strike from expert at level 2.

I assume no, but I have a player that thinks yes.

He's wrong. The rules say so specifically in several places.

The ONLY hand to hand skill that offers bonuses to guns is Triad Assassin from Mystic China, and that's a martial art style that probablly isn't avaible if you arn't playing N&SS, and even that is only for 9MM guns with more than 13 round clips..

HTH Assassin grants a +1 strike to ranged combat attacks at level 8.

The only WP Modern Weapons, in PF2, gives the PP bonus (and only the PP bonus) to strike. However, this WP is only available to PF chars.

Which book? I looked in the HU2 book and it only gives +1 APM @ L8.
Does it say +1 strike with modern weapons? or just ranged attacks?
If just ranged attacks, it means just with ancient weapons.
Because the modern weapons description specifically says that modern weapons do not get the H2H and PP strike bonuses, the inclusion of a modern weapons strike bonus needs to be specific.

no question mark and it is phrased like a statement.

RUE updated it, and it does say "guns"

If it said "+1 strike with guns" why did you misquote saying "ranged attacks". Your misquote changed the meaning of what you wanted to quote to mean something else.
As it is in rue, the bonus is only for modern small arms, not to ancient ranged weapons. Your misquote
flipped the meaning of what is said in rue.

Remember in the future to state where you got what you are quoting, and to make sure of your quotes.
And that RUE only changes Rifts, not anywhere else. So don't think that we, who like to play the others settings, think that RUE "is the bomb", just because it "Rifts, The Cash Cow".

Can we think that you, who like to play the other settings, but who don't think that RUE "is the bomb," are a bit uptight and overly-indignant about it?

I didnt quote it at all, i was providing semi-accurate anecdotal evidence. I didnt provide a book, or a page number, and thus it is not a direct quote. Still, it does qualify. certain hand to hand skills DO provide bonuses to strike to (in this case certain kinds of) ranged attacks.

The sharpshooting W.P in New West has bonuses to strike. But you must have at least a P.P of 18 or more.
