Green Blood

I was listening to the Star Talk podcast with the guest John Hodgman and this little trivia bit came up.
Lobsters have green blood because they have copper based hemoglobin (Hemocyanin).
Invid have green blood.
Vulcans have green blood.

It failed to honor my request for tacos, so I'm going with 'No'.
The color may be the same, but I'd argue there's enough biochemical differences that transfusions would NOT be viable(or healthy).
Now admittedly, that also means that Sera and Ariel should be infertile with regards to their human spouses, but I'd allow for Invid genetic alchemy and flexibility on that one, perhaps even subconscious alteration of their bodies to be viable in carrying hybrid children to term.

IMO, the greenblood could also be due to other chemicals in the blood (like say protoculture), while using Iron based molecules for the oxygen carrying cells.

Robotech has crossover from hardcore sci-fi to sci-fantasy genre with Sera pregnant with Lancer's baby. Green blood and red blood .... homo sapiens invida.
Waitaminute .... didn't in Star Trek that green blooded Vulcans successfully mated with red blooded humans?
Well, if that is the case, humans & Solugi humanoids are genetically compatible indeed (well, Zor did bang the Regess .... the whole damn intergalactic wars started when Zor cannot seems to keep his hands on the Queen Slug).

).
Depending on the sources, Amanda may have been impregnated artificially, but delivered naturally(and probably with a Science Academy's worth of high-falutin' lab equipment and Vulcan medical specialists just outside camera-shot in that rather rough-looking 'traditional' birthing chamber). The well-intentioned, if poorly executed,
'Enterprise' featured a lab-created hybrid child late in its run, but the resident miracle worker Dr. Phloxx figures out(and comments) that the work and methodology was 'too early' and the child dies of complications.
Invid-Human hybrids are most likely possible due to the very adaptive nature of Invid physiology, even without the supervision of the Regis as goddess-on-hand...or, you can ascribe it to the more esoteric properties of Protoculture/Flower of Life.

Well actually the book in question only stated the Regis used human DNA to create Ariel. They sort of imply that it was Marlene's DNA. A nice trick given how she died. However, Tommy doesn't consider the books cannon, so as I said take that as you will.

well, i can believe that the Regis used human DNA in creating the human-form invid. why reinvent the inventor of the wheel?
the invasion video game is only psuedo canon but that had an exact copy of a UEEF soldier, so the possibility of her making exact copy infiltrators is viable.
certainly i could see her making exact copies as a "prototype". i don't think marlene was the blueprint for Ariel (honestly, they don't look that much alike.. and pretty sure Scott fell for Ariel because of emotional not appearance stuff) but i could see her being based on someone else. Corg and Sera though i'd imagine were originals, not copies.

I had ran with an Idea that when Scott was shot down by Corg, he died, but Ariel used her "invid powers" to make an exact duplicate of him down to his memories...
