I hope you are all doing well. We have been shorthanded since Wayne took a dive off a roof and smashed up his knee. He cannot put any pressure on his leg and is hobbling along on crutches. He’s been doing some work remotely and sees a doctor next week. Our fingers are crossed that it is less serious than what the emergency room doctor suspects.

We are so busy we could not get to this Weekly Update until today, Friday. I’m happy to say it is a good busy, full of excitement and fun as we build to the announcement of our next Kickstarter. Sean and I have been getting a kick out of your speculation on what that Kickstarter could possibly be. We hope to announce it next week, so you should not have much longer to wait. The announcement may come as a separate email, so watch for it, and we will talk more about it in subsequent emails. We think a lot of you will go wild over it. The tiny handful in the know sure have. One fan-friend said, “I need to start saving my money now, because I want everything!”

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Original art – My Ebay store is one of the few places where you can find original artwork by me (Kevin Siembieda), Kevin Long, Charles Walton, and others, as well as one-of-a-kind negatives from classic Palladium books (they look awesome framed), and other Palladium memorabilia.

Collectibles include Palladium limited edition hardcovers, out of print items, signed books, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, art prints, posters, comic books, Star Wars toys, superhero action figures, and many other toys and items from my personal collection. Yeah, I used to be a crazy toy and art collector. Hundreds of items. Take a look every weekend or two for new additions.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. The plastic film negatives were then “ganged” on a massive sheet of Mylar, 16 pages per big sheet, and the printing plates were made from the negatives – everything white, printing black. We have been cutting them loose and making them available to you. I am only keeping a few dozen pages of negatives and a few complete books for myself, the rest are all being slowly offered to you, in no particular order.

• Each negative is truly unique and resembles woodcut art.

Closing Thoughts – Secrets

I have never been a person who keeps secrets. I’m too much of a big kid who wants to share his secrets with everyone. That makes our next kickstarter announcement murder for me to keep quite. That said, I am proud of myself for having kept it a well-guarded secret for a long time now. [I’m proud, too. – Sean] Other than people working on the project, maybe a dozen Palladium insiders know about it. And even most of them have been looped in for only the last month or so.

I do have to admit, secrets can be kinda fun. We can’t wait to see the reaction of everyone when the project is revealed. We know it will blow minds, elate many, and impress fans old and new. I wish I could tell you all about it right now, but we have to wait, darn it. Next week sometime.

There are other secrets too. Plans for Rifts®, Palladium Fantasy®, Beyond the Supernatural, and ... gosh, I can’t say. [No, you can’t! – Sean] I had a fun conversation with Francois DesRochers the other day. He asked some fun questions, but I could not reveal all the answers he wanted to hear. Sorry, my friend, thanks for understanding.

I’m happy to say I don’t have any deep dark secrets. I’m pretty much an open book. In fact, I have had business associates and attorneys tell me I reveal too much and wear my heart on my sleeve. Maybe so, but I am who I am. I like being open and honest and friendly. So it’s no secret I’m a gaming geek who truly loves his work and the fans I create it for. That actually helps me (and Sean) to create the games and sourcebooks we know you will love, because we are just like you. We enjoy the same games, movies, streaming shows, comic books, novels, etc. That also means I like to share my experiences, and what I know, and have fun getting other people as excited about the RPG hobby as I am.

For me it is a great pleasure to create worlds and make games and books that others enjoy and find inspiring. I love making people happy with our products. We all do. [That’s true. – Sean]

Silly? Corny? Maybe. But it’s a dream come true for me. A dream I have been living and loving for 42 years. A dream I am happy to share with anyone who wants to come along. Sean and I have a lot more dreaming and fun in store for you. Our next Kickstarter is a doozy, but it’s just one more step forward along our planned course.

Palladium Collectibles – at Kevin’s Online Toy & Collectibles eBay Store

Original art – My Ebay store is one of the few places where you can find original artwork by me (Kevin Siembieda), Kevin Long, Charles Walton, and others, as well as one-of-a-kind negatives from classic Palladium books (they look awesome framed), and other Palladium memorabilia.

Collectibles include Palladium limited edition hardcovers, out of print items, signed books, one-of-a-kind proofreader copies, art prints, posters, comic books, Star Wars toys, superhero action figures, and many other toys and items from my personal collection. Yeah, I used to be a crazy toy and art collector. Hundreds of items. Take a look every weekend or two for new additions.

One-of-a-kind Palladium Books negatives (special and rare collectibles). Negatives are always very popular items at the Palladium Open House, Gen Con, and conventions, and are catching on as rare collectibles, unique in and of themselves. Before digital printing, pages of a book were laid out by hand on a board, and each page was photographed. The plastic film negatives were then “ganged” on a massive sheet of Mylar, 16 pages per big sheet, and the printing plates were made from the negatives – everything white, printing black. We have been cutting them loose and making them available to you. I am only keeping a few dozen pages of negatives and a few complete books for myself, the rest are all being slowly offered to you, in no particular order.

• Each negative is truly unique and resembles woodcut art.
• It is a piece of Palladium Books and RPG history you will treasure.
• Each was used to print the very book you may have in your collection (1981-2004).
• Each signed in silver ink by Kevin Siembieda, the founder and owner of Palladium Books.

Heck, Rifts® is so expansive there are settings within the main setting like the Western Frontier, Dinosaur Swamp, Canada, Atlantis, South America, England, Germany, Japan, China, and locations across the globe. Then there are the Dimension Books for space opera and adventure across the cosmos.

Lately, I seem to be meeting people who have rediscovered Rifts®, Fantasy, Heroes Unlimited, etc., who forgot how awesome and fun these settings are. To them I say, welcome back and game on! So pick up any Palladium game or sourcebook that’s been sitting on the shelf for a while and give it a read. It is likely to set your imagination kindling with new campaign ideas and characters.

We played Palladium Fantasy with Sean’s daughter and gave her a few key books, so now she’s getting deep into the lore and setting. She found it is deeper and richer than she had imagined. I suspect we’ll be playing more Fantasy the next time she’s in town. I love seeing my games through the eyes of new players, especially youngsters.
