Palladium Books® Weekly Update – Nov. 2, 2017
By Kevin Siembieda
One game system – every genre – countless worlds – endless adventure
I hope your Halloween was a happy one. Ours was excellent. I talk about it more at the end of the update and news section of this Weekly Update. This week has started out with a bang. I’ve been approving artwork for Rifts® Sovietski™ from several artists, and writing my fingers off. In fact, I put in nine hours of work before our Halloween party, so it was a very long but positive day. The Rifter® #78 ships on Monday next week, and various people are working on several books, including The Rifter® #79, Rifts® Sovietski, Rifts® Bestiary Volume One and Volume Two, and the Dead Reign®: In the Face of Death™ sourcebook.
Over the weekend I did an original pen and ink illustration for a Surprise Package of a long-time fan. The Palladium crew loved it, so I hope he does too. It’s so nice, I’ve been told a) I need to do more artwork, and b) I need to find a use for the illustration. Funny. That’s the nice thing about the early Surprise Package orders, we can spend a little more time on them and personalize them a bit more simply because we’re not insanely swamped like we are every December. Christmas Surprise Packages are coming in strong and I have been loading them up and kicking them out. Please keep them coming. You won’t be disappointed.
Available Again – Glitter Boy™ in Flames Poster
Thanks to a fan’s inquiry about the out-of-print Glitter Boy in Flames poster (i.e. the Rifts® Chaos Earth® RPG cover), my trying to scrounge up a poster for him, uncovered a dozen signed and numbered Glitter Boy posters (#628-640; $20 each) AND a dozen or so Glitter Boy poster “printer proofs” (if my memory serves me right, there were only 100 of these; $27 each). So for the first time in a number of years, this fan favorite limited edition poster is again available while supplies last. There may be some slight yellowing along the very edge of some posters, but it would be covered if framed. Looks great on the wall whether framed, matted or put up as is.
- 20 inches wide by 28 inches tall, big powerful image. Printed on a 24x34 inch, quality paper stock.
- Glitter Boy™ poster – signed and numbered – $20 (only 700 signed posters were made), Cat. No. PO800.
- Glitter Boy™ poster – printer proof (marked P/P and signed) $27 – Cat. No. PPO800.
- Each is signed by artist Scott Johnson and Kevin Siembieda.
- Mailed rolled in a heavy duty mailing tube.
- Sold on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.
- Note: This Glitter Boy image is also available on a mouse pad ($9.95 – Cat. No. 2566).
UPDATE: The Rifter® #78 – Ships on Monday!
The Rifter® #78 is at the printer and ships on Monday. As I’ve said, this issue is packed with source material suitable for many game settings. There is the Modern Necromancer™, official source material for use in Heroes Unlimited™, Nightbane®, Ninjas & Superspies™, Chaos Earth®, Phase World®, Three Galaxies™, Dead Reign®, and other settings. The aftermath of the Legion Splicers® adventure is also outstanding and official source material with some of the most striking Chuck Walton II artwork for it to date. Ian Herbert’s Palladium Fantasy® source material for the City of Khemennu™ wraps up this issue with more information and adventure ideas, and Carl Gleba’s Rifts® Nexus Zone presents new information, powers and adventures.
UPDATE: The Rifter® #79 – Ships End of November
The Rifter® #79 is looking pretty sweet. I think Alex has edited most of the selected articles and I’m in the process of assigning artwork.
UPDATE: Rifts® Sovietski™ – Ships November or December
Rifts® Sovietski is an even more fun and cool book than I had remembered. You are going to enjoy it a lot. And remember, thanks to the Rifts, Sovietski combat vehicles, weapons, cyborgs and characters can appear anywhere on Rifts® Earth, and beyond. I have been approving some impressive artwork all week.
UPDATE: Rifts® Bestiary Volume One and Volume Two – New
I hope people are excited about the Rifts® Bestiary. This is a long overdue resource that should be very handy, as well as being fun and fairly easy to put together. The focus of the first two Rifts® Bestiaries are monsters and notable animals of Rifts North America, with the focus on creatures that are (mostly M.D.C.) animals and monsters, including intelligent creatures that resemble animals or are bestial/monstrous in nature. Each “beast” will be illustrated and accompanied by a map showing where it is most commonly found in North America.
The creatures in the first two volumes have been collected and their stats are being updated even as you read this. Both volumes are being created at the same time and a dozen or so new creatures will be found in each volume. Shooting to have Volume One out by December (tentative) and Volume Two out a month after it. See the description elsewhere in this Update.
If these two books are successful, they’ll be followed by a book on Ghosts/Entities, Spirits and other strange beings, a book of dragons (mostly new material; tentative), and Bestiary Volumes for creatures in other parts of the world.
UPDATE: Rifts® The Disavowed
I did a little work on this book over the weekend and it is likely the next book I dive into.
